so, if I understand this right, it would be possible by putting the special chars within the argument,

for example:

Code: Select all

$post_text = str_word_count($post_text, 1, 'äöüßÄÖÜáàâÁÀÂéèêÉÈÊóòôÓÒÔúùûÚÙÛ1234567890');

This works wonders for about 98% of posts on my board, thanks!

This works pretty good. You'd think there'd be another function that would have utf-8 support

microtekblue wrote:Hello,

First I installed Advance Meta Tags Mod.

And Now I am trying to Install SEO MOD.

The Problem is happening with the SEO Mod where on the VIEWTOPICS.PHP edit, on the last part of the mod sheet, it says to:

Find
Tip: This may be a partial find and not the whole line.

Code: Select All
page_header($user->lang['VIEW_TOPIC'] .' - ' . $topic_data['topic_title']);
Replace With
Tip: Replace the preceding line(s) to find with the following lines.

Code: Select All
page_header($topic_data['topic_title']);

The Problem is that when I found the appropriate code it has ALREADY been altered by Advance Meta Tags MOD.

Here what it said:

page_header($user->lang['VIEW_TOPIC'] .' - ' . $topic_data['topic_title']) ,true, $first_post_text); // true, post_text added by Advanced Meta Tags MOD

So how Do I work around this?

What line do I put there so that Both SEO MOD and Advance MetaTags Mod work correctly?

All Help and Suggestions would GREATLY be appreciated.

The forum in question is healthnutritionforum.com

Thank all for the help in advance.

Thank you.
sibaer wrote:I have the exact same problem :? , I installed first the SEO Mod, and now the Advanced Meta Tags mode. At first, I did not know what to do about this last line which should be replaced in viewtopic.php. There were no errors, but I suppose the mod did not actually work. ;)

Now I saw the last post and have included

Code: Select all

page_header($topic_data['topic_title']) ,true, $first_post_text);
as you have suggested. Here's the error line I now get when running a topic:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ',' in /home/mtb96/public_html/forum/viewtopic.php on line 1605

Can you help, please? Thx :)

fix for this:

open viewtopic,php

find this:

Code: Select all

page_header($topic_data['topic_title']);
replace with:

Code: Select all

page_header($topic_data['topic_title'],true, $first_post_text); // true, post_text added by Advanced Meta Tags MOD);
its working, not affecting either seo mod nor AMT.
see this:

url of topic:
pagesource/keywords of that topic:

i downloaded this mod and it worked great for my home page, even within categories and topics...but once you are in a post it keywords things like,
the, world, quot, buring, has, changed, while, term, still, simply, means, copying, information,...
And the meta description isnt much better....

Is there not a filter to filter out words from at least the keywords like "the"? And woulnt it make sence to focus on the title of the posts for both keywords and description?

For instance, of the above keywords it list would you ever guess the titel of the topics was...

"Burning and "Authoring" a DVD"

had it simply added 'buring' 'authoring' and 'dvd' as keywords and filtered out 'and and 'a' from the title alone i would have been infinatly better off.

I dont want to sound ungrateful, because this saved me a bit of time fidning and editing keyowrds for a few main/repetative pages. Is the problem i explained above a common issue or did i miss something?

The idea of this mod is quite good.
But how could the mod be approved by the MOD-Team if it doesn't have UTF-8 support - wich is an essential part of phpbb3?

I guess HoL is busy with other things then comming up with a fix... :(

Perhaps try something like

Code: Select all

$post_text			= utf8_normalize_nfc($post_text)
Just an idea, i don't have this installed, sorry
My mods in MODDB:
Add Homepage link in header - Change user activity post limit - Post number in viewtopic
If you need support click on the support tab there and post your question.
Do not PM me - chances of viewing my PMs are way thinner than viewing the support question in the customization DB...

I tried something like this. The problem is the 2nd line of that code:

Code: Select all

		$post_text = strtolower(strip_tags($post_text));
		$post_text = str_word_count($post_text, 1);
str_word_count messes up the UTF-8 string (because UFT-8 is not supported by that function) even if you normalize correctly it in the first line of this code using something like utf8_case_fold_nfc.

This indicates problems with language files. Check if you forgot a comma somewhere or saved the files with BOM.

I am also getting a problem in the ACP Board Settings section. I have checked and I have updated the Board.php to the letter as in the install guide. But every time I add this file it messed up the ACP console.

Code: Select all
