Like as a bar with 120x600 of Google Adsense.

I'm interested in this also. I followed the "How to add positions", but not sure where to place the "Position code". Don't want to screw something up in there. I just want an ad on the right and left side of the forum.

Thanks

Depends on whether your forum has a set or a dynamic width.

Here is an example taken from a calendar mod I used to use. It floated a mini calendar to the left of the forum list.
Open: index_body.html

Find:

Code: Select all

<!-- INCLUDE forumlist_body.html -->
Replace With:

Code: Select all

<div style="margin: 0; padding: 0;">
	<div style="float: left; width: 20%;">
<!-- INCLUDE mini_cal_body.html -->
	</div>
	<div style="float: right; width: 79.8%;">
<!-- INCLUDE forumlist_body.html -->
	</div>
	<div style="clear: both;">
Find:

Code: Select all

<!-- INCLUDE overall_footer.html -->
Add before:

Code: Select all

	</div>
</div>
Of course you would change the "<!-- INCLUDE forumlist_body.html -->" with your ad code like "{ads_9}".

Good luck.

Hmm. There's a problem.

I have to copy root/*.* in the downloaded folder to *.* in the FTP. But what is *.*?

running 3.0.4

*.*
essentially means
all files
so
copy root/*.* in the downloaded folder to *.*
really means
copy all the files from the root folder in the downloaded folder to your phpbb root directory

Does anyone know hoe to completely remove the copyright bit at the bottom when you activate
the adverts? I would like to place it somewhere else, and it makes the footer much bigger then it needs to be.

I just created a new centered DIV and put the ad code in that.

Evening gents

I'm putting this mod in, and editing prosilver, but I got to this point
in the viewtopic_body.html

Find
Tip: This may be a partial find and not the whole line.
Code:Select All
<!-- END postrow -->

Add before
Tip: Add these lines on a new blank line before the preceding line(s) to find.

Code:Select All
<!-- IF (ADS_5 and postrow.S_FIRST_ROW) or (ADS_6 and not postrow.S_FIRST_ROW) -->
<div class="post bg3">
<div class="inner"><span class="corners-top"><span></span></span>
<div class="postbody" style="width: 100%;">
<h3>{L_ADVERTISEMENT}</h3>

<div style="font-size: 1.1em; margin: 0px auto; text-align: center;">
<!-- IF postrow.S_FIRST_ROW -->{ADS_5}<!-- ELSE -->{ADS_6}<!-- ENDIF -->
</div>
</div>
<span class="corners-bottom"><span></span></span></div>
</div>
<!-- ENDIF -->

The problem is, I can't find <!-- END postrow -->

Any help appreciated

Sounds like you haven't uploaded some of the files, did this myself first time I installed it.

The files within the root folder need to go in the corresponding folders within your forum folders and not stay in the folder called root.
