Does anyone know how to make this portal your default home page? My site is www.firstcoastforum.com and it is just the forum installed on it. Instead of them going to the board index when they type this address I would like them to go to the Portal instead and then choose the board from there. Can anyone assist?

I think that should happen by default. I'm almost certain it did when I installed some time ago.

In the install.xml it says to add this to htaccess :
Find
Tip: This may be a partial find and not the whole line.

Code: Select all

<Files "common.php">
Order Allow,Deny
Deny from All
</Files>
Add after
Tip: Add these lines on a new blank line after the preceding line(s) to find.

Code: Select all

DirectoryIndex portal.php index.php index.html index.htm
this will do what you want.

I've installed the Board3 portal on my site: (in norwegian) http://forum.mcsiden.com/portal.php

Problem: Access to the portal settings in ACP.
As you see the portal itself shows up and seems to be working allright, but my problem is that i can't access the portal settings in the ACP. When I click the "MODS" tab in the ACP I just get a http 500 error.

I have gone through the installation procedure several times now, but I can't find that I have done anything wrong. Does anyone have an idea where to start looking for any defective coding? Any help would be very welcome! :)

Setup:
phpbb version: 3.0.4
Board3 portal: 1.0.2
Style: Redsilver 3.0.2

I have portal installed at www.angineer.com
and forum at: www.angineer.com/forum

I am using some styles including prosilver. The problem I am facing in prosilver in portal page is that the left and right sections are touching the edges of the browser and I want they should be at a distance from the edge as shown in the demo's.
My style is at:
http://www.angineer.com/portal.php?style=9
Please tell me what needs to be corrected or change to make it correct.
I want it as shown in the demo at:
http://demo.board3-styles.de/
for prosilver

You did not edit the overall_header.html correctly. Make sure you set the <!-- ENDIF --> exactly as stated in the install.xml.

Edit: i sorted out the top of the page by trying to place in another location the first code

Code: Select all

<!-- IF not $S_IN_PORTAL or not S_DISPLAY_MAINMENU -->

Hi

Just a quick question before I install the Mod as I might not be able to do it.

My provider won't allow me to upload the .htaccess file, so I deleted them as discussed on another thread and the forum works.

But as there is a change to the .htaccess will it work if I miss this step out?

Thanks in advance.

Hey. Thank you for this useful mod, it works fine for me! 8-) Only one thing I couldn't find anywhere: Is it possible to have a border around every block? I've got my own (black) corners on the portal site already, but I'd like them to be connected with black lines as well. Could you tell me where I need to put the "border" code, please? :)

Thank you in advance!

http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... &t=1449165

the error shown is this

Code: Select all

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in /home/content/xxxxxxx/html/example/forum/cache/tpl_avalon_overall_header.html.php on line 200
any help would be appreciated to fix this problem, thanks :)

I am having this same problem with my forum at http://www.bandrox.org.

I double checked my overall_header.html file, and it looks like it's correct... I compared it to another forum that I used this mod with, and it looks fine (oliver.bandrox.org). They both look exactly the same right there.

What am I missing? I've clear the cache already, but that didn't do it...
