for example... if i selected gobal mod in group in UCP... then my rank is gobal mod so in post.php... it selects gobal mod rank automatically...

of course it could be editing...

I don't understand what you want and why you talk about ranks...

Is there any way to modify the code so that when a user registers as a custom group, it does not add them as a pre-defined group?

For example, I have my custom registration form set to add them as a developer, a custom group that i have defined, which it adds as default. But it also registers them as a new user and registered user. When this happens, their post color is then lost. Is it possible to prevent them from adding these other groups by default? this is frustrating

i am sorry to confuse you...

i just refer rank as default group...

i mean when regular user change his rank of regular (none) to another rank of donator (green) as default in usergroups at UCP...

so in posting.php will detect and automatically select default group/rank (donator)... while use quickly reply textbox... when its posting... then the post will show as green background automatically...

but it could be editing as donator selected donator into regular or other rank (group)...

appmodo > this feature is not provided by my MOD. You want to modify the way phpBB adds user into groups... I just want to focus on my feature, not on a full recoding of phpBB's group... :?

CMA > I will think about adding the ability to choose a default group in ucp. I thought about using the default group by default in posting.php but i realized that this is not how i want my mod to be used... In fact, in my mind, this feature is used to give focus on a special post (for exemple a post where an admin announce something important), not for coloring all posts from a group... Do you see what i mean ?

i can see what you mean...

but add configuration ( or use default group) in ucp would be nice feature... it would be clean and easy to use/select... than use configuration in posting.php...

i mean different admins have thier different opinion...

Whatever you change, make it an ACP option setting... The rest of us prefer to use this mod as you intended - for special posts so they stand out as special messages... We don't want every user group having a different colored post all the time!

just curious... how can i add option from posting_editor.html on quickly reply body?... i mean

i use mod from http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 9&t=839905 so

i want to copy and paste

Code: Select all

			<!-- IF S_USER_GROUPS -->
			<hr class="dashed" />
			<dl>
				<dt><label for="post_as_groupmember">{L_POST_AS_GROUPMEMBER} :</label></dt>
				<dd><label for="post_as_groupmember"><select name="post_as_groupmember" id="post_as_groupmember"><option value="1"></option>{USER_GROUPS}</select></label></dd>
				<dd>{L_POST_AS_GROUPMEMBER_EXPLAIN}</dd>
			</dl>
			<!-- ENDIF -->
on the quick-edit.html

but i am not sure how to put um "post_as_groupmember" data information on the quickly reply mod... can you please tell me? so i can see option on quickly reply box...

thank you very much...

While you can do whatever you want with your board, the idea of Quick Reply is that you enter quick text and reply - it's for those times you don't need all the bells and whistles of the Post Editor.

I do not understand why people try to make their quick reply have BBcodes, smilies, and in your case, colored background options.... that's what the regular post editor is for! :lol:
