A list of new found bots is here - http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 4&t=935605

I do agree that it would be brilliant if the Dev of this MOD and the OP of the thread above could combine their two lists

Might be hard to combine them, but maybe make addition version of just the new bots that were not in the 1st mod???

The install script pretty much tells you the basics of what you need to do to add a mod

If you have a problem understanding exactly what it asks you to do, then that is what the support forum is for

Just ask a specific question....specific because there are many aspects of different installs for mods of varying complexicity

The one that says:

Upload the files to your site in the correct location, and navigate to the file in the root forum folder in your internet browser while logged in as an admin.

To your server root where your config.php is located

If you don’t have server root access then you can’t install this mod

sorry for the delay,
this is the deal, I am currently pretty busy, i'm in my last semester in school (college) and am searching for job, and stuff, plus doing all the projects for school.
as for an update of this mod, it will be made as soon as i figure out how to add bots to the list, and the ability to to skip a bot that is already added, without erroring out or adding it again

plus the first version i sorta forgot to add the user agents for the bots

Could just make another one that adds the additional ones and does nothing to existing bots...maybe?

Mod added. The quickest and easiest one yet. Also manually added the additional bots from the above link. Now a couple of my "guests" are identified as to what they are are and have proper access (guests have very limited access while users get full access).

I am not Bot savy so I would like to know if I want to create a Bot identity for an SEO program that looks at my site, how much of the Agent info do I need (will one matching word be sufficient) or do I use my ISP IP since I run the program from my desktop (or will phpBB get confused between me and the program)? I am assuming I need to create a bot identity since the SEO program doesn't have a login feature and it returns a number of pages as not found when I think it is because phpBB sees them as a guest and denies them access.
