I've installed your mod(update) but there are no names. :oops: :cry:

What went wrong?

PS: The names are in the database, but not shown anywhere else.

I can, but not today.
The things are working with the new database and the older codes, so I'll see tomorrow, what I can do.

I think I see where the problem is. If you followed the upgrade instructions, I made an error.

This line was not supposed to be there.
Find

Code: Select all

border: '.$user_row['style_border'].';';
        }
Add-After

Code: Select all

}

Options are, just undo that line
or
Just make sure the section looks like what's below

Code: Select all

    if ($user_id)
    {
        $sql = 'SELECT user_id, user_type, user_permissions
            FROM ' . USERS_TABLE . '
            WHERE user_id = ' . (int) $user_id;

        $result = $db->sql_query($sql, 1200);
        $userdata = $db->sql_fetchrow($result);
        $db->sql_freeresult($result);

        $auth2 = new auth();
        $auth2->acl($userdata);

        if ($auth2->acl_get('u_use_colored_name'))
        {
         $username_colour = $user_row['style_color'].'; font-weight: '.$user_row['style_fontweight'].';
          font-style: '.$user_row['style_fontstyle'].';
          background-color: '.$user_row['style_background'].';
          text-decoration: '.$user_row['style_decoration'].';
          border: '.$user_row['style_border'].';';
        }
    }

ok, I'll test it.

That I have to remove the "allowed user to customize his name" control panel from the acp is necessary?

Now, the names are visible, but my name style is not working :cry: :oops:

Remember this version moves the permission to normal phpBB permissions, the reason you remove it the way you did is that it no longer goes there.

Go here.
Admin Panel -> Permissions -> User's Permissions -> (Enter a user and go from there) -> Advanced Permissions -> Colored Names

The permission is there now.
(The biggest upside to this is that you can now assign it to a whole group!)

(This is also why your name isn't being colored, unless you enabled it this way, the board says you no longer are considered to have permission to use it)

ah, ok.
I've found it.

I hope that I don't go on your nerves :oops: , but in the ucp I can't customize my name.
I'm allowed to, but I can't do it. :cry:

Not exactly sure what you mean. Are you saying it shows up but it doesn't change when you submit it, or is it not showing up at all?

Either way, did you make the correct changes to ucp_profile.php?
Try posting the contents of that in code tags and I'll take a look.

I've found the problem, but I don't know how to solve it.

in the acp menu where I can give users special rights there is the colored names field green.
But in the users rights overview, where I only can see what right a user has, there is the colored names field red. :shock: :oops:

Try a permissions trace. There might be a place where it's set to never, and that would cause that.

ok, after a long time of searching, I've found what you mean.

2 Users have the right to customize their names.
The founder and one other.
The trace say never "never". Sometimes no, sometimes yes, but as result always yes.

But if you look into the users rights overview there always stands never. :oops: :cry:

This is not the topic for requests for the next version, just for help with the current :)

I will be including this in 1.4 which I plan to start on during my Christmas break.
