In every post or only one ? I think is only 1, because when the text is cute I only add "..." so the wrong character ( � ) is in the post, may be the post have it.
I test it in 4 different languages ( that are in my board actually ), English, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish and the last 3 have special characters and everything is fine.

Hy,

one more issue: In all readers (Feedreader, Feedbuster, RssReader) the items appear multiple times - the reader does not recognize them as old und not updated while actualizing the channel. This is not nice - if I update every hour I have a lot of double content after a short time...

I also noticed that you use different content in the <decsription> and in the <content:encoded> fields. Is that a bug or a wanted feature ?

And a last question: You use <dc:date> instead of <pubDate>. In some readers only the <pubDate> seems to be supported.

Sorry for the lot of questions - but this mod is the best RSS mod I tried and if the last bugs can be fixed this would be a really great mod...

I'm a newbie, and the SQL instructions in the install file scare me a little. Would anyone be able to provide me with a little more info about them? Do I need to modify the actual database? Is that safe? Is there a good way to go about it?

Imagine the situation:
There is a phpBB3 forum and it has 3 sub-forums. 1st forum is public, 2nd is for users in "forum2" group only, 3rd is for "forum3" group only. I am a member of "forum2" group. Everything works OK when I want to read an RSS for 2nd forum, because there is a cookie in my computer which allows me to read the feed. What if I want to subscribe RSS feed for 2nd forum in google reader? Google doesn't have rights to read that feed. Or am I wrong?

You are right, google will show something like "Has no elements."

Please keep in mind that the feed was created for humans, not machines

Is there a possibility to add a parameter to feed's URL (could be a kind of an unique ID for every user to compare to one in database) which will authenticate an user and let RSS reader fetch the feed? If you click RSS icon in your browser, you'll be redirected to a page which contains something like "&auth=somehash" in it's URL, so everything you have to do is add this URL to your reader. And only way to obtain someone's hash is to log in to that person's account. Is that possible?

does this MOD allow you to pick which forum the RSS feed will be? i dont want my whole board through a feed...

You have different ways to invoke the rss

rss.php -> will display you a resume of the hole board
rss.php?mode=forum -> will display all forums titles
rss.php?mode=topics -> will display all topics titles
rss.php?mode=posts -> will display all post titles & content
rss.php?f=(NUMBER) -> will display all post in forum Nº(NUMBER)
rss.php?f=(NUMBER1)&t=(NUMBER2) will display all post in forum Nº(NUMBER1) and topic Nº(NUMBER2)

Option 1, 2, 3 and 4 are the same, everywhere in the forum.
Options 5 & 6 change, meanwhile you navigate the forum.

Options from 2 to 6 are managed in the ACP

You are setting the rss ? Please, clear the cache and try again.

Hey there - I'm having a bit of a problem getting this module to show up in the ACP so I can configure it.

I copied the files, ran the SQL script, and followed the install steps. In the ACP, I can add the module to the System » General Tasks and Enable it, but it doesn't show up in the left-hand menu under "General Tasks" on the "System" tab after I add and enable it.

In phpMyAdmin I can see that the new records are added in the "config" table, so I don't think that's causing the problem.

I double-checked to see if all the files were added and they were. I double-checked the edits that were outlined in the install XML file and the edits were made. So I don't think that that's the problem either. Also, there are no error messages - which is good, I think.

Do you know how I can fix this? Are there some permissions that I need to enable before the link shows up in General Tasks?

Thanks. I'm looking forward to testing this out after I am able to configure it! It looks like a fantastic MOD.

I recieved the same (50) rss messages the second time since I intalled that mod yesterday. What can be the reason?
