No, no, no. Upload the file found in download of the mod in the includes folder to the includes folder of your forum.

Jasonwade, which version are you trying to install and what is the style you are trying to install it on?

I have already done that, but will delete the file and download it again and se what happens from there.
Thanks for your help

thanks.
I have updated the mod...following file changes will allow the tooltip to show when performing a search.
OPEN search.php

FIND

if ($config['load_anon_lastread'] || ($user->data['is_registered']

BEFORE ADD
// BEGIN Topic Post Text Hover Mod
if ($config['hover_active'])
{
$sql_from .= ' LEFT JOIN ' . POSTS_TABLE . ' p ON (p.post_id = t.topic_first_post_id)';
$sql_select .= ', p.post_text';
}
// END Topic Post Text Hover Mod

FIND

$tpl_ary = array(
'TOPIC_AUTHOR' =>

BEFORE ADD
// BEGIN Topic Post Text Mod
if (!empty($row['post_text']))
{
// strip all bbcode
if(!function_exists('bbcode_strip'))
{
include($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/topic_post_text_hover.' . $phpEx);
}
$hover_post = bbcode_strip($row['post_text']);

if ((strlen($hover_post) >= $config['hover_char_limit']))
{
$hover_post = (strlen($hover_post) > $config['hover_char_limit'] + 3) ? substr($hover_post, 0, $config['hover_char_limit']) . '...' : $hover_post;
}
}
// END Topic Post Text Mod

FIND

'POST_ID' =>

AFTER ADD

// BEGIN Topic Post Text Mod
'POST_TEXT_HOVER' => (isset($hover_post)) ? censor_text($hover_post) : '',
// END Topic Post Text Mod

OPEN

styles/xxx/search_results.html

FIND

<a href="{searchresults.U_VIEW_TOPIC}"

IN-LINE FIND

{searchresults.U_VIEW_TOPIC}"

IN-LINE, AFTER ADD

<!-- IF searchresults.POST_TEXT_HOVER -->title="{searchresults.POST_TEXT_HOVER}"<!-- ENDIF -->
..and that should do it. Please remember to purge the cache/refresh the template to get the tooltip to show when searching.

Also, please remember that the tooltip will only show if you are searching with results in topic form as opposed to post form.

Any problems, or other ideas, please post back in here. Thanks. :)
Ok the really weird thing is, I did the above for that first subsilver based style I tried and when I search for new posts (so showing topics with new posts) it DOES work...

Ah, I remember now. In subsilver2 based styles there are two instances of this

Code: Select all

<a title="{L_POSTED}: {topicrow.FIRST_POST_TIME}"
so apply the edits to both instances that you find of the above in viewforum_body.html.

1.0.0 is only for viewforum, if you are talking about 1.0.2a then that would not be possible because the javascript code strips all html <a title" tags and replaces the title part with tooltip. The only way to get that done would be to rewrite the tooltip javascript and/or reword the title= part that the mod adds. By rewording title= though will more than likely, actually will definetly, break W3C validation if that matters to you.

I don't have any time to rewrite this mod...sorry.

I installed this mod, and if i wanna view in a forum it lookes like this

I also installed

Gender mod
Mark_edited_posts_as_unread_v1.0.1_DONE
auto_ACP_redirect-DONE
integrated_errors_1.0.2a_DONE
activity_stats_mod_DONE
instant_post_redirect_1_0_2_DONE
topic_solved_DONE
Olympus_Quick_Reply_DONE
colored_link_when_new_post101_DONE
mod_version_check-DONE
ip_in_topic_phpBB3-DONE

Someone conflicting with this mod? i guess something with the"topic_solved mod"...

I also think it's in this file, because when i upload a backup of that file, everything comes normal (except that i can't use this mod): viewforum_body.html file

but my knowledge with that is not so good so..

Thanks

It looks like you are trying to install v 1.0.2a (I see the tooltip css that has first post date in it). I also can't think of a reason as to why this mod would cause that error.

Do i need to enable this mod in ACP?
if so, can you give me the instruction where can I alter this?

Or, I just need to host my forum online to see this MOD work..
Coz currently I am having it on localhost...

Anyway, can you confirm that I made the right edits here:

viewforum_body.html

Code: Select all

				<dt<!-- IF topicrow.TOPIC_ICON_IMG and S_TOPIC_ICONS --> style="background-image: url({T_ICONS_PATH}{topicrow.TOPIC_ICON_IMG}); background-repeat: no-repeat;"<!-- ENDIF --> title="{topicrow.TOPIC_FOLDER_IMG_ALT}"><!-- IF topicrow.S_UNREAD_TOPIC --><a href="{topicrow.U_NEWEST_POST}">{NEWEST_POST_IMG}</a> <!-- ENDIF --><a href="{topicrow.U_VIEW_TOPIC}" class="topictitle"  <!-- IF topicrow.POST_TEXT_HOVER -->title="{topicrow.POST_TEXT_HOVER}"<!-- ENDIF -->>{topicrow.TOPIC_TITLE}</a>
Thanks in advance and more power.

Yes you need to activate it in the ACP (General->Board Features)

RMcGirr83, thx a lot from all russian thousands of visitors of my site for that feature they asked for so long time. Very easy to install - very useful for users and me as admin. Now users are almost happy. Why almost? :oops: Two things would be made this mod absolutely perfect to my mind:
1) Enable QUOTE preview (if user quoted somebody in his last post - his own post is shown with quoted text as well as one string). Not always is possible to catch a sense in that case.
2) Emoticons show. At least emoticons! Many users used to post by emoticons only and it would be marvellous to see them in tooltip as well.

Now I'm using the last version (1.0.3) and it doesn't contain such features. Or it should? :oops:

Sorry if I ask impossible things.

Best regards, admin of Nissan Qashqai club - Russia.
