TinyPic Plugin

Post by wraaa » Sun Nov 02, 2008 1:37 pm

Note: if you want the plugin in other languages, edit styles/prosilver/template/posting_upload_body.html and change tinypic_language to one of the following:
For Spanish use 'es'
For French use 'fr'
For Italian use 'it'
For German use 'de'
For Dutch use 'nl'
For Portuguese (Brazil) use 'pt-br'
For Polish use 'pl'
For Swedish use 'sv'

ex. tinypic_language = 'es';

frigging awesome mod thanks much wraaa been waiting for something like this for ages ...

Screenshot :

Image

only one thing ... a slight overlook on the instructions on file edits to the language posting.php files and posting.php i noticed it and put in the right edit for those who might have followed the install.xml to the dot and had errors

the file edit in language/en/posting.php
should actually be

FIND :

Code: Select all

'ADD_POLL_EXPLAIN' => 'If you do not want to add a poll to your topic leave the fields blank.',
Add After

Code: Select all

//Tinypic Plugin MOD by tinypic.com - start
    'ADD_UPLOAD'                            => 'Upload To TinyPic',
    'UPLOAD_EXPLAIN' => 'Upload a file and click the Add To Post button to add it to your post.',
    'UPLOAD_ADD_TO_POST'                    => 'Add To Post',
    //Tinypic Plugin MOD by tinypic.com - end
Same goes for posting.php

FIND

The instructions say
"Tip: This may be a partial find and not the whole line."

The only problems I have. The add to post button is located behind the tinypic.com link in the bottom left corner after I upload a picture. Makes it rather hard to click. Even when I do click it, it doesn't hadd the image link to the post. I'm using prosilver special edition for my theme.

i dont have an issues with the button... probably some style related issue

as for the instructions it could easily be misread and im sure some one will add it in between and break something because if you read it straight ahead that's what it tells you to do..... i doubt those to lines change either way ....

Although then again perhaps its not an error i always had issues with the way they wrote the english instructions in the new xml files .... meh ! its just meant to help anyone who has an issue ...

Seems the issue depends on the pic I upload.
In one shot you can see everything looks fine.
In the other one, you see that every thing is pushed further down putting it behind the tinypic.com link.
We have limited amounts of room to display the info.
Worse case, puts the add to post link to far down the page.

Is the add to post button working for you?
Even when I can see it. Clicking it does not add the link to the post.

Yes, I checked the edits.
I'm guessing java script problem. Most mods have you include the script within the style folder. This one has you place it in the root folder. Thought that was rather strange and tried multiple placements for it.

Doesn't matter if I try it on prosilver special edition or just prosilver.
Either way, the add to post does not work for me. Tried with IE and FF.
Also have the issue depending on the size of the image being uploaded causing problems with the layout being pushed down the page behind the tinypic.com link in the bottom left.

Regardless, I've made few changes that allow it to work for me without any of the above problems.

Something else I've noticed.
After a topic is started. You lose the tinypic upload box if you go back to edit a post.. On post a reply you have it. I've only noticed this on an edit. The first post in the topic maintains the upload box. It's just the reply that that has it missing on edits...

Any thoughts?

I replaced

Code: Select all

<!-- IF S_SHOW_UPLOAD_BOX -->
With this

Code: Select all

<!-- IF S_SHOW_ATTACH_BOX -->
In posting_editor and posting_layout.html . It's a quick fix at the moment for the tinypic upload box not showing on edits to replies.
Guess I could have just moved the include code within the IF Attach box code that was already there.

As I understand it. <!-- IF S_SHOW_UPLOAD_BOX --> is not being shown as set to true to display the box on edits to replies. As long as I have attachments enabled the box shows with the changes I made.

Maybe someone else will have a better solution. For me it's not much of an issue with my changes as I have no plans to disable attachments.

The code was placed in posting.php in a way that it only shows Tinypic in a new post.

BTW you guys know that tinypic.com will show your posted pictures right?
