Thanks, I love it, it's great and so easy to installl. :D But I've to suggestions:
1. Could it be possible to make it so that when you refresh the page the expanded or collapsed categories remain as they were before.!?
2. It would be better looking if they where on the right side, in the corner and when you want to expande a category there would be a + sing but if you want to collapse - sign.

Unfortunately this mod doesn't provide a locked-in expanded state or a locked-in collapsed state when the forum page is REFRESHED. Once REFRESHED the index goes back to its standard (default) unexpanded state. This is even more of a problem for me, as I use a 15 minute meta tag refresh so that members will be notified of their PMs by popup window ( Alert Box PM Notification )

Thanks for your posts, but it's just javascript. So it's difficult to keep categories collapses in this way.
The other way is to keep a trace in the database for each user per categorie. It will be a big table, and i think that this is many work for a little tweak.

Best,

Another nice feature...
Congrats, Théonaute :D

Suggestion: why don't you store the status in a cookie, so that the state will be remembered?

I completely agree with both.
Actually already exist a mod that DO that,
it doesn't save the collapse-preference into a cockie, but rather into the database (here is the explanation: viewtopic.php?f=70&t=699315&start=285#p6877225).
The mod is: [Beta] Collapsible Categories viewtopic.php?f=70&t=699315&start=285

Greets.
