Print A Post Mod

Post by RMcGirr83 »

Thank you Paul and MOD Team!! :)

Little more explanation of what this mod does.

It will allow users, if correctly authed to print topics from within a forum, to print a specific post from within a topic. Currently, there is no functionality that allows users to print a single post from within a topic.

Great job!!!!! I gave you a 5!

This was a terrific idea. I installed it in a very short time on two forums, and in six styles. This was a very easy install, and very useful. Every forum should have this. :D

Sorry, where is this supposed to show up? And how do you set who can use this? I didn't see anything in the ACP.

I think I followed the instructions carefully :)

If a user or group is correctly authed to read a forum and to also print topics from within that forum, the user and/or group will be able to print a specific post from within a topic within that forum.

I'm sure you installed it correctly as well. See the attached gif for where the image shows up in prosilver. In subsilver2 based styles, there is new wording next to "Back to top" at the bottom of each post.

Looking at the code, that's what I thought, but I didn't see it there... Maybe I need to reinstall it.

Thanks!

Got it to work!!

No, it was not the cache... :D Dunno what it was, but now it's working.

Simple MODs that add something useful (and do not eat up all the resources) just rock. Thanks!

One thing I noticed, though. With a print preview for the whole topic, the smilies are portrayed as such, but with a print preview for a single post (this MOD), smilies look like the code (for example: :bigsmilie: instead of the gif).

Any thoughts on that?

Here is the same with pictures, maybe it's clearer that way.

The first one is part of a thread, and the second one is one single post (that is included in the first picture).

Open print_post.php

FIND

Code: Select all

$message = bbcode_nl2br($message);
AFTER ADD

Code: Select all

$message = smiley_text($message);
...and that should take care of the smilies.
