Lock Post on Report

Post by kp3011 »

Thanks for the Support Team to validate the MOD.

As recommended by the MOD team, here is an SQL command which would lock all your current reported posts:

Code: Select all

UPDATE phpbb_posts SET post_edit_locked = 1 WHERE post_reported = 1
Have fun :)

I installed this mod, cleared my cache and...nothing.

Threads don't get locked upon a report.

Any ideas?

I have checked and double checked the modification i made (not that it was exactly extensive!!)

Thanks

Threads don't get locked. Only (individual) posts get locked.

Very good idea, IMHO. Users shouldn't be able to edit their post if reported. Not sure how they would know it was reported to begin with but anyway...better "safe than sorry". ;)

Have a question though, can moderators and or admins still edit the post if it is reported and not cleared from the reported posts feature?

Sure. It's exactly the same as the moderators having locked the post manually.

I think that the whole topic should get locked to be honest, for more security really ;) Any chance of an update to make this happen? ;) :)

Did you check the status of the thread or the individual post? This MOD (currently) locks only the reported POST, not THREAD. :) Also, if you're a moderator, you're always free to edit the post.

The post is not locked.
I created a test user to make sure of the posting.
Nothing is locked.

I see that this line of code from above.

UPDATE phpbb_posts SET post_edit_locked = 1 WHERE post_reported = 1

My board is 3.0.5
Am I suppose to put this in?
If so, where and what form must this go into.

Could you provide a test link?

--------------

The UPDATE line is an SQL command in case you want to lock all currently reported posts. You should run it in your SQL interface (eg phpMyAdmin), replacing phpbb_posts by the actual name of the posts table in your database.

I don't know what I did, but it appears to be working now.

http://www.toothkit.com/testforum

Is there a way to display on the post that it is CLOSED when reported?

Hi.

Just a small question:
When will the post be unlocked?

I ran a small test, simulating a user who for fun wants to bug another user by reporting a post where nothing is wrong.

The moderator closed the report.

But the post remained locked for the innocent user.

Any suggestions?

grtz,
Twan
