Can anyone help me out? I installed boarwatch, updated the permissions, even ran the proper SQL statements to set the users to "0" to received emails for every post, but still no emails are being sent. I don't see any error messages anywhere so I'm not sure where to look. I hadn't make any changes to boardwatch files and I left everything to the default during the install. The only problem that I had was when trying to install it, the install_boardwatch.php would not run because it was looking for the language files in 'en_us' where the boardwatch zip file has them in 'en'. I changed the folder name to 'en_us' and uploaded it again and it installed fine. the only other change is that after the install, I renamed the install_boardwatch.php to .install_boardwatch.php to hide it.
Emails are working in phpBB. When I add a new user, a welcome email gets sent to the users email, so that's all good. Any help? This will be for a private board of maybe 20 users.

Please recheck your changes to that file again. If you look at line 1488 and 1489 you will see that you inserted the text that the mod tells you to insert in the wrong place (the mod tells you to insert it after the '):' and not before). My guess is that you will have other errors as well - I would suggest you install with automod rather than trying to do this by hand.

Are you receiving any errors? Is the board behaving normally when people post? Sounds like maybe you made an error in making the changes to includes/functions_posting.php. And I'm curious: when you grant users permission to change their boardwatch settings, can they see those settings in the UCP?
If you can't figure it out, you can post your includes/functions_posting.php file and I'll take a look when I get a chance. Or, you could go back to your backup files and then install this with automod

No errors at all. The board is functioning normally without any issue. Users are able to view the boardwatch UCP, and even change the settings.

Sounds like you didn't install any of the mod
Open install.xml (which is what you are supposed to do for EVERY mod) and read the instrucitons. Install_boardwatch.php does NOT install this mod (it only installs the ucp module and permissions).

It's very easy, and it saves mod authors a lot of support time if you use that (since unlikes us humans, it doesn't make careless errors).

(I know you already ran the install_boardwatch.php script, but that just means you don't need to do it later when you install the mod itself with automod.)

If you want to disable boardwatch itself but allow people to get notices of every forum they subscribe to, you could set your db so boardwatch for all forums is by default off (and then hide the option - i.e. not give people permission to change that option) and then people could decide which forums to subscribe to and tehy would get every post in that forum.
Lots of possibilities.

So far I have been getting good results until I added the line to restrict certain forums from the Board Watch email list. Somehow that keep all emails from going out. My code was like this with 32 being the forum I wanted to lock out.
For now I have that commented out and now I just noticed another problem that may or may not be related to BoardWatch: in my admin error logs I get the following message 3 times when I post a message on my board:

Thanks, I will have to try the edit on your last post. My 1st problem was that no emails would come out for and forum with that code installed, but since I was editing several things trying to fix the problem, it may be for some other reason, but it is working at the moment with that code commented out.
On the 2nd problem, I have to use the external SMTP because my server is on a PC on a University network, and they block email servers. Wish I know how to bypass that, that would probably speed up posting time with a faster return from the 70 emails it sends out for each post now
