Nailz, when you feel like it you can test this html. Copy it save it as top_five_body.html and upload it into your template folder for your style, then refresh the template/purge the cache in the ACP..

Code: Select all

<br clear="all" />
<table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="100%" class="cat-head">

	</tr>
	<tr>
		<td class="row4" colspan="2">&nbsp;</td>

</table>
Sorry taken a while to get back to this, but now have it reinstalled, the block sort of worked, just the bottom of it is not complete

http://i41.tinypic.com/2r794lx.jpg

Can see the silver bar doesn't go all along the bottom of the block.

Thanks for the help so far.

thanks for your reply . but this is not working , when i made this change then the username of the member who has last posted message on the forum is displayed as the author of all five posts for example
if teh user XYZ has last posted any message on my web then the list of last five posts will be displayed as

In topic1 by XYZ
in topic2 by XYZ
in Topic3 by XYZ
and so on.
Now The user XYZ is author of only the first post but its name is dipalyed as author of all other 4 posts also which are posted by other members.
hope u understand the problem.
thanks

You can try this

OPEN

includes/top_five.php

FIND

Code: Select all

$topic_title = censor_text($row['topic_title']);
AFTER ADD

Code: Select all

		if (utf8_strlen($topic_title) >= 40)
		{
			$topic_title = (utf8_strlen($topic_title) > 40 + 3) ? utf8_substr($topic_title, 0, 40) . '...' : $topic_title;
		}
Change the 40 to the number you want.

Here's the problem I'm having... please help.

"/language/en_us/mods/top_five.php couldn't be opened." I'm using PHPbb 3.0.4 I've done everything in the XML file to a 't' I did the SubSilver2 mod though, not the prosilver. Will that effect it you think?

NEVERMIND I had to go in to language/en_us/mods to add the "top_five.php" file instead of the language/en/mods directory.. Problem solved!
