Hello,
I tried to install EasyPortal with Automod.
I got an error message,so I stopped Automod, and didn't chose for "force install".
I restored the forum from a back-up I made before.
Automod says the Portal isn't installed.
But....
I can't see my forum anymore..
Who can help me?

That means the edits were not undone. You will need to undo it manually by doing the MODX instructions in reverse.

Thank you for answering.
The reason I've chosen for auto installation,
is that I'm not able to install mods by myself.
I don't know how to undo the changes the mod made, when back-ups aren't able to undo what the mod did.

I found out,
it's in the link,
http://www.harley-heaven.com/forum/index.php is ok.
But http://www.harley-heaven.com/forum/ gives the error.

Can you be of any help?

AutoMOD should have made a backup before it made the edits. It should be in /store/mods/easyPortal/_backups or something. Restore those files and then purge your cache.

You need to restore those files. ie. Overwrite the ones in your forum root with those.

Thank you.
Can I just get the back-up folders,
and put them in the root,
and let those back-up folders overwrite all that's in the root folders now?

I mean,
I don't need to open each back-up folder,
get whats in it,
and just replace that,in the same folder that's in the root?

You also need to remove the new files. At least portal.php is still on your server. Also have a look into the .htaccess file. It still redirects to portal.php instead of index.php. Just change that.

Wolfman,
Just removing the portal php file gives an error.
It' the link to the portal that needs to bee changed.
Where can I find that ".htaccess file" you're talking about?

One problem was in the .htacces file.
Thanx Wolfman.

The other problem was in the "overal_header.html".
I replaced the one of the forum bij a "fresh" one,and the linking problem,on the index page was over.

But,we're not ready yet.
Logging in,and logging out,
You see this page logging in:
return_to_portal.gif
return_to_portal.gif (3.21 KiB) Viewed 713 times
and this page logging out:
logged_out.gif
logged_out.gif (2.89 KiB) Viewed 713 times

In both cases you are rederected to this page, saying:
portal_not_installed.gif
portal_not_installed.gif (5.67 KiB) Viewed 713 times
Where can that be adjusted?
