THIS MOD IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ABBC3

And fix is this...

Code: Select all

            'img'      => '<img src="$1" alt="' . $user->lang['IMAGE'] . '" onError="javascript:this.src=\'styles/' . $user->theme['template_path'] . '/theme/images/IMAGENAME.GIF\'"  class="resize_me"/>',

I haven't tried it myself, but that looks right for the avatars.

is this for a older version of phpbb ?

Its just that this problem with the red x is not something iwe seen on 3.0.4. But i can imagen its browser dependant. I do not get the red X with firefox and opera when performing the following on the board.

posting an image with IMG code and deleting the image from server afterwards. It just says "image" in viewtopic. Same with avatars but the text says "usersavatar" instead.

have anybody actually seen this red X on 3.0.4 ?

newer browsers like Firefox are smart enough to not show a red X :lol:

this is more for IE users ;)

Thanks for the mod, There are more people using iE than any other browser, So This will come in handy :)

I've also changed the "default" missing image to a 1x1 white pxl if thats ok.

Of course. :) The default image was never meant to be more than a basic example so one can see the mod works after being installed. I expect most users will replace it with something that better fits their board styles.

Yeah, the red x itself is totally browser dependent. Firefox and some others show the alt text for the image instead, or nothing if there is no alt text. The mod will still work in those browsers though, so it can be used to show that there was supposed to be an image in a certain place.

I can't seem to get any results from this mod, i've uploaded the image to prosilver as well as the template i am using and i have tried many variations of the link to the missing.gif file, it still shows up as a red x.

Any ideas?
