or

depending on that language you use.
Thanks for the reply..

I have done the language edits for my board, I have been uploading them to EN, but I just realized my board is set to English - United States..

But if I switch the board to British-English, shouldn't it work? Because it's not.

I copied my en\acp\board.php and en\memberlist.php over to the en_us folder since thats what I have been using, but I get this error message when I do:

Code: Select all

[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /adm/index.php on line 150: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /language/en_us/acp/board.php:1)
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /adm/index.php on line 152: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /language/en_us/acp/board.php:1)
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /adm/index.php on line 153: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /language/en_us/acp/board.php:1)
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /adm/index.php on line 154: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /language/en_us/acp/board.php:1)
Otherwise, the board works fine..

Well apparently I didn't :lol: Because when I switched, it changed nothing. I did add the files in the EN_US directory, but I get error messages (see above post)..

Would it help if I posted the contents of any of the files??

Thanks again..

That error 99% of the time means your using a bad editor like notepad to edit the file. Try replacing the file with a fresh one and use another editor

Yes Notepad++ is good. It has a settings switch for UTF8 without BOM (which is what you want) but I don't know if it is switched on by default settings or not.

Nice mod, thanks.

Only problem is that post text aren't parsed properly.
It doesnt "see" line breaks. It will just continue in the same line without a space between the words were a line break was supposed to be.
Links doesnt get parsed.

Using 3.0.6 RC4
Any solution for this?

I kept having errors with some user's profiles.
the script would say out of memory...
includes/function_content.php error on line 1133

finally figured out the problem by doing a "print_r($_char);" which showed that each letter in the post was being thrown into an array and basically overloading the memory.

anyways to fix you have to open memberlist.php

Code: Select all

FIND:
'POST_TEXT'			=> truncate_string($text, intval($config['number_char_post'])),

CHANGE TO:
'POST_TEXT'			=> substr($text,0,160),
I used 160 (characters) because I really don't need more than that.

Links won't get parsed because the bbcode is stripped you can however get rid of the annoying lack of spacing. To do so

OPEN

memberlist.php

FIND

Code: Select all

				$text = generate_text_for_display($row['post_text'], $row['bbcode_uid'], $row['bbcode_bitfield'], $row['bbcode_options']);

				$post_text =  strip_bbcode($text);
[offtopic]why $post_text is there is confusing as it isn't used at all but anyway[/offtopic]

REPLACE WITH

Code: Select all

				$text = $row['post_text'];
//				$text = generate_text_for_display($row['post_text'], $row['bbcode_uid'], $row['bbcode_bitfield'], $row['bbcode_options']);
				if ($row['bbcode_uid'])
				{
					$text = str_replace('[*:' . $row['bbcode_uid'] . ']', '⋅ ', $text);
					strip_bbcode($text, $row['bbcode_uid']);
				}
and that should fix the spacing problem.
