Before installation of this MOD how to backup files. Which files needed to be backed up. The files inside root or the roots folder itself? and the php files? or a complete database backup is necessary. Please help me out with this.

All files that you edit at the least, otherwise it might be easiest and safest to backup all of the files in your forum's directory. A database backup would not be a bad idea either.

Works wonders. But I too started installing the previous version before I realised there was a newer version.
Also where is pre-registration captcha? I thought it had it last time I used this.

It is up to version 1.02 which can be found on his site here. http://www.lithiumstudios.org/forum/vie ... 77dfcd531a (still needs to get it validated maybe?) No bugs from what I can tell although I can't get pre-registration captcha to show. (don't know if that is a bug or it's me)

The pre-registration captcha was removed because it was a rather large pain to get working with everything. The captcha plugins should make it more difficult for bots to register, so I decided that all the extra edits for it was probably not worth it.

If a lot of registrations are getting past the new plugins I may re-add the pre-registration captcha to the mod (the edits would have all needed to be changed anyways to support the new captcha system).

Great Mod - have used it successfully for some time.

After a server move I am running into a problem. Normal Forum Registration no longer work (captcha keeps on being displayed, after successfully entering the code, the page reloads with a new Captcha).

I am attempting to remove ASACP and have hit this hurdle after running "remove_asacp.php"

Removing acp module: acp/info/acp_asacp.php
Fail

Removing acp module: Anti-Spam
Unable to remove module, it has assigned children. Please remove or move all children before performing this action.

Any idea what the children are and which action I need to perform?
Thank you.

I would go over all of the file edits and verify them.

As for the uninstaller issue, just remove the left-over modules shown in the ACP through the module management module.

I'm looking at using this mod. I was wondering if there is a list of spam words/phrases that people have, that they can share?

Thanks loads.

You may be able to find a list somewhere, but that might just be a big hassle to enter them manually. I just add domains (ex: spam.com) every time they are posted in a spam message and that'll make sure that the same one can't come up again.

I wish I had the time to build a separate site for handling the spam words for every site that uses the mod, but other things have a much higher priority.

Alright so call me a noob but during in install i could no locate the following line in file ucp_register.php

Code: Select all

$s_hidden_fields = ($confirm_id) ? array('confirm_id' => $confirm_id) : array();
to replace it with...

Code: Select all

			// START Anti-Spam ACP
			$s_hidden_fields = array_merge($s_hidden_fields, $asacp_hidden);
			$asacp_coppa_url = '';
			foreach ($asacp_hidden as $name => $value)
			{
				$asacp_coppa_url .= "&$name=$value";
			}
			// END Anti-Spam ACP
Any support would be greatly appreciated as im new to this MOD.
