Hi Chris,

Thanks for your prompt reply. Yes, do purge cache and refresh styles.

Attached is a zip file with the acidtechlime styles/template/viewtopic_body.html we're using. The forum is here http://www.auskawasakiriders.com/forum

Cheers

A link for me to download the style and test it would be even better, but I believe this will work OK..:

Just an idea for an add on, is being able to search function to find the post number, for example you type 49 and clicked search for post number it would take you to that post

Ok got everything working.

Instead of displaying the post number, i'm getting this:

Image

EDIT: Got it working! I forgot, i had to make changes to language/en_us and not language/en

Great mod! Thanks for this.

If you also have First post on every page mod, here is the fix for displayed post number:

Edit: viewtopic.php

Find

Code: Select all

// First post on every page
// Show first post on every page if needed
// For the case the user is trying to reach the first half of the topic
Add before

Code: Select all

// FIX: Post number in viewtopic, $j adjusts the displayed post number
$j = 0;
Find

Code: Select all

   }
   $i++;
Add before

Code: Select all

		$j--;
Find

Code: Select all

   $post_list[$i] = $topic_data['topic_first_post_id'];
Add after

Code: Select all

		$j--;
Find

Code: Select all

	$postrow['POST_NUM'] = $start + ($i+1);
Replaced with

Code: Select all

	// FIX: First post on every page
	$postrow['POST_NUM'] = ( ($topic_data['topic_first_post_id'] == $rowset[$post_list[$i]]['post_id']) ) ? 1 : $start + ($i+$j+1);

Actually, although I cannot be 100% sure since I cannot test it, it should work for any version of 3.x.x until now....

This mod is exactly what I've been looking for. So far I'm not having any luck getting it to work, which is surprising since it's quite strait forward and simple compared to others I've installed. My forum is using 3.0.6.

The one thing that I can think of that I may have misunderstood is the edit to viewtopic_body.html. Here is what I've done. Is it correct?

Code: Select all

<p class="author"><!-- IF S_IS_BOT -->{postrow.MINI_POST_IMG}<!-- ELSE --><!-- IF S_ENABLE_POST_NUM -->{L_POST_NUM}<a href="{postrow.U_MINI_POST}"<!-- IF S_ENABLE_POST_NUM_JS --> onclick="prompt('{L_POST_DIRECT_LINK}',this.href); return false;"<!-- ENDIF -->><strong>{L_POST_NUM_SYMBOL}{postrow.POST_NUM}</strong></a>&nbsp;&nbsp;{postrow.MINI_POST_IMG}<!-- ELSE --><a href="{postrow.U_MINI_POST}">{postrow.MINI_POST_IMG}</a><!-- ENDIF --><!-- ENDIF -->{L_POST_BY_AUTHOR} <strong>{postrow.POST_AUTHOR_FULL}</strong> &raquo; {postrow.POST_DATE} </p>
If it is correct, I think it must be an issue with my SQL edit (I'm not great with SQL). Thus far, no numbers or changes at all show in the posts. If there is anything else I can try to fix this, please let me know. Thx.

Have you actually enabled the mod via the ACP? If yes, then:

Your edit for viewtopic_body.html is correct..
Check all the other edits (especially the one in includes/functions.php)
