I have a request to make - can you add an option to retrieve topics of a certain type? It would be great to be able to easily compile all stickies or announcements like you can currently do with bookmarks. Particularly if you could get, say, only the latest post in each sticky topic. What do you think?

Thanks for the suggestion. I can add it to the development queue.

In ACP there is problem with language file, I checked 3 times to copy language file to right place but still get this in ACP instead of titles in form.

Have you purged the cache?

I followed exactly your directions:
---
ACP > System Tab > Module Management > Administration Control Panel
Type in "Smartfeed settings" and click on the "Create new module" button
Select...
Module type = Module
Parent = General > Board configuration
Module enabled = Yes
Module displayed = Yes
Choose module = Board management [acp_board]
Choose module mode = Smartfeed settings
...and click on "Submit"
---
and now I have, correctly, the link General > Board Configuration > Smartfeed settings.

But when I click this link, I get the message "General Error: No mode specified".

Any idea?

Thank you.

Mauro

The modes for Smartfeed are contained in the language changes to language/en/acp/common.php. There are two sets of changes. Did you make both?

If you missed them, make them and flush the cache again.

I tried but no avail.

language/en/acp/common.php is ok. Cache is purged.

Smartfeed settings gives the error "General error - No mode specified".

There is something I can try?

Thank you.

Most likely you missed changes to includes/acp/info/acp_board.php. The mode parameter when you click on the Smartfeed link in the ACP should say "smartfeed", and these changes should set the proper mode. That comes from this file change.

Unfortunately I cannot get in with that URL. Did you make the changes to the file I mentioned? If it is not made based on my reading of /includes/acp/common.php that should trigger the error you are getting because that is where the $mode variable is set and passed to /includes/acp/acp_board.php.

Yes:

Code: Select all

'registration' => array('title' => 'ACP_REGISTER_SETTINGS', 'auth' => 'acl_a_board', 'cat' => array('ACP_BOARD_CONFIGURATION')),
// phpBB Smartfeed MOD - Addition begin -----------------------------------------
'smartfeed'	 => array('title' => 'ACP_SMARTFEED_SETTINGS', 'auth' => 'acl_a_board', 'cat' => array('ACP_BOARD_CONFIGURATION')),
// phpBB Smartfeed MOD - Addition end -------------------------------------------
'auth'	 => array('title' => 'ACP_AUTH_SETTINGS', 'auth' => 'acl_a_server', 'cat' => array('ACP_CLIENT_COMMUNICATION')),

Hmm, I am running out of suggestions. You can purge the cache again but I assume you have tried that. You can also reverify all the file changes and file copies and DIY instructions.

By any chance are you using the en-us language pack and not make the changes there?

In any event it is very clear from reading /includes/acp/acp_board.php that the error you are seeing is triggered around line 448:

Code: Select all

			default:
				trigger_error('NO_MODE', E_USER_ERROR);
			break;
And that $mode is passed set in /acp/index.php:

Code: Select all

$mode			= request_var('mode', '');
Do you have other mods installed?

Also, NOT making the changes to /includes/acp/acp_board.php would also trigger the error.

What database are you using? I have code for MySQL and SQLServer only.
