Re: Legend Repositioning

Post by Br33zer »

Hey I have installed this on my forum and edited the files accordingly.

phpbb: 3.0.5

Style: Redstripe [Prosilver]

URL: http://desiforum.byethost5.com/forum/index.php

But when I go to my ACP>Users and Groups>Groups>Manage groups. I see the Legend Positioning table at the bottom. But when I press the UP or Down arrow, nothing happens and I just get a blank white page.

Can anyone help me out?

I recall experiencing this problem in the early developmental stages of this MOD, but it disappeared as the MOD came to completion. Just making sure, but did you run the included install_legend_repositioning.php file after doing the file edits? Also, could you please post a screenshot of your Manage groups panel from the ACP? One more thing: what web browser were you using? Thanks.

Hi

Yes, I had installed install_legend_repositioning.php. And I face this problem on Firefox 3.5 and IE 7. I get a plain blank page when I click the UP or Down arrow to move the group up or down respectively.

Please find screenshots:

I'm a bit dumbfounded here. Could you post the full URL from the address bar once you get to the blank page? I want to see something in the URL.

Code: Select all

http://desiforum.byethost5.com/forum/adm/index.php?i=groups&sid=a601d44b6ebd9f4504ae4bcdd7a1e4ca&icat=12&mode=manage&action=move_up&g=5
^^^That's the URL you were asking for.

And on my forum index, the legend is already positioned according to the default position of the MOD.

Hey Tom, thanks for concern but I have reversed this MOD and installed this one:

http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=576823

This is working for me on 3.0.5

But I would be happy if you tell what was wrong in my previous MOD installation or why didn't it work if everything was fine.

Regards.

The finds in this mod need to be updated for 3.0.6. Cant get it to work or even load the acp section of this mod.

Got it working.

This find

Code: Select all

					'GROUP_NAME'	=> $group_name,
					'TOTAL_MEMBERS'	=> $row['total_members'],
					)
				);
			}
		}
Should be replaced with this

Code: Select all

					'GROUP_NAME'	=> $group_name,
					'TOTAL_MEMBERS'	=> $row['total_members'],
				));
			}
		}
Worked for me

I don't see any change in the code other than combining the )s together.

No code change as such, the find may not be found manually or with automod if it stays as it is.

Between 3.0.5 and 3.0.6 there has been a small change in includes/acp/acp_groups.php that has caused the find specified in that file to malfunction. Just for reference, here was that part of acp_groups.php in 3.0.5:

Code: Select all

					'GROUP_NAME'	=> $group_name,
					'TOTAL_MEMBERS'	=> $row['total_members'],
					)
				);
			}
		}
And here it is in 3.0.6:

Code: Select all

					'GROUP_NAME'	=> $group_name,
					'TOTAL_MEMBERS'	=> $row['total_members'],
				));
			}
		}
No real change, except for the fact that the two )'s are now on their own separate lines. I will revise the install file and submit it to the MOD DB as version 1.0.2. I'll submit this change to the MOD DB by the end of this week for validation. In the package, I will also include install instructions that will work for the 3.0.5 version of includes/acp/acp_groups.php just in case anyone wants to install this on a 3.0.5 board.

The Fix
As DoYouSpeakWak posted, the temporary fix for the MOD's installation file is to take this find for includes/acp/acp_groups.php :

Code: Select all

               'GROUP_NAME'   => $group_name,
               'TOTAL_MEMBERS'   => $row['total_members'],
               )
            );
         }
      }
And change it to this:

Code: Select all

               'GROUP_NAME'   => $group_name,
               'TOTAL_MEMBERS'   => $row['total_members'],
            ));
         }
      }
As I said, this fix will be submitted to the MOD DB within the week.

Thanks for reporting this bug. I appreciate your help. :)

I have just submitted the fixed version to the MOD DB. It may take a little while for it to be validated and released, but if you want the fixed installation instructions that work with 3.0.6 now, click here. That is the "fully fixed" installation file. ;)

You shouldn't have any issues using that installation file to install this MOD, but if you do, post here and we'll help you sort it out.
