Re: Forum SEO

I did follow that. But I wanted the keywords and description to appear at bottom as you have said before here: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... #p11216385

But in Envision style which is subsilver2, there is no

Code: Select all

    <!-- INCLUDE jumpbox.html -->

instead what I found was this:

Code: Select all

       <td align="{S_CONTENT_FLOW_END}"><!-- INCLUDE jumpbox.html --></td>
So I have added before this:

Code: Select all

    <!-- IF FORUM_SEO_DESC --><span style="font-weight:bold;">{FORUM_SEO_KEY}</span><br /><span>{FORUM_SEO_DESC}<br /></span><!-- ENDIF -->
    <!-- IF FORUM_SEO_BOTTOM --><br /><div><span>{FORUM_SEO_BOTTOM}</span></div><!-- ENDIF -->

Hi

Thanks for this very useful mod.. :D

I am using X-Treme Blue as my theme and wanted to install it on that theme but the problem is I am not able to find any of the code edits mentioned for viewforum_body.html.

How do I go about it?

Sorry I am a noob at this + I was using SMF for almost 2 yrs now so its kind of confusing for me since I just changed to phpBB3 today..

Thanks for you help and support..

I have Advanced Meta Tags installed and now trying to install Forum SEO.

There is one edit that I am not sure of how to do.

Here is what I am suppose to do:

Code: Select all

styles/prosilver/template/viewforum_body.html
Find
<!-- IF FORUM_DESC or MODERATORS or U_MCP -->
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Replace With
<!-- IF FORUM_DESC or FORUM_SEO_DESC or MODERATORS or U_MCP -->Success  Find
<!-- IF FORUM_DESC --><span style="display: none">{FORUM_DESC}<br /></span><!-- ENDIF -->
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Replace With
	<!-- IF FORUM_SEO_DESC --><span style="font-weight:bold;">{FORUM_SEO_KEY}</span><br /><span>{FORUM_SEO_DESC}<br /></span><!-- ELSEIF FORUM_DESC --><span>{FORUM_DESC}<br /></span><!-- ENDIF -->
The Find specified by the MOD could not be found
However, here is what I currently have. What should I change it to?

Code: Select all

<!-- IF FORUM_DESC or FORUM_SEO_DESC or MODERATORS or U_MCP -->
<div>
	<!-- NOTE: remove the style="display: none" when you want to have the forum description on the forum body -->
	<!-- IF FORUM_DESC --><div style="display: none !important;">{FORUM_DESC}<br /></div><!-- ENDIF -->
	<!-- IF MODERATORS --><strong><!-- IF S_SINGLE_MODERATOR -->{L_MODERATOR}<!-- ELSE -->{L_MODERATORS}<!-- ENDIF -->:</strong> {MODERATORS}<!-- ENDIF -->
</div>

You are using phpBB 3.0.6 and this mod is for 3.0.5
I have submitted the updated version which is not yet validated.

You can find the version for 3.0.6 HERE
But please note that it is NOT yet validated.

Ok. Just installed teh latest version, but I am getting an error.
I went to create a new forum and got a mysql error.

Code: Select all

SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Field 'forum_seo_key' doesn't have a default value [1364]

SQL

INSERT INTO phpbb_forums (parent_id, forum_type, forum_status, forum_parents, forum_name, forum_link, forum_desc, forum_desc_uid, forum_desc_options, forum_desc_bitfield, forum_rules, forum_rules_uid, forum_rules_options, forum_rules_bitfield, forum_rules_link, forum_image, forum_style, display_subforum_list, display_on_index, forum_topics_per_page, enable_indexing, enable_icons, enable_prune, prune_days, prune_viewed, prune_freq, forum_options, forum_flags, left_id, right_id) VALUES (1, 1, 0, '', 'Anorexia', '', '', '', 7, '', '', '', 7, '', '', '', 1, 1, 0, 0, 1, 0, 0, 7, 7, 1, 0, 48, '8', 9)

BACKTRACE

FILE: includes/db/mysql.php
LINE: 174
CALL: dbal->sql_error()

Many more erros in this.
I am assuming I just need to put a default entry in the forum_seo_key.
Can you tell me what to enter?
I cannot find the SQL for this mod to see what it would be.

How did you install the SQL?
Did you run them manually in phpmyadmin or did you use the installer included in the non validated (new) version?

I manually installed into phpMyAdmin when I installed 1.0.2.
Then, I took the new version 1.0.3 and ran the installer. It said that everything was installed except it needed to add the forum version.

The manual SQL doesnt work for all databases.
Run the installer again, chose uninstall.
Then run it once more to install it again and report back.
