Re: Karma MOD

Post by roller24 »

Ive installed this mod and raped the ratings to show images for different karma levels.
If your not using a sub or pro silver theme. then enable them and use them to install and test the mod.
Then play with your theme templates to display the karma in your theme.
It's a time consuming process, and knowledge of templates and basic php is needed.
THis mod works fine, and bugs will pop up now and then.
that's why we test the mods and report the bugs.
If the developer drops, than another will take their place.
I'll try to post here any thing I can to help but some of these posts here are blatantly obvious that the install wasnt done correctly. backups werent made and directions werent read prior to installation.

Now if you want the rank images to be karma images do this.
edit files
includes/functions_display
memberlist.php
viewtopic.php
FIND any instance of ranks code within pages
replace the var $user_posts with $user_karma_powered
WARNING do not change $user_post variable anywhere except rank calls
go to ranks and add ranks and images (minimum posts will now represent karma points)
Then allow rank images and they will be displayed showing user karma.
The add/subract buttons do not display in this image, I was logged in.

After reading the comments here, I feel very cautious about installing this mod.

What is the latest version of this mod, and does it work on phpbb 3.0.6?
Is there any better reputation mod alternatives?

Open the installation file from the first post and then follow the subsilver2 instructions in the contribute folder after you finish all of the instructions in the first installation file untill it reaches prosilver instructions. That is where you'd stop following the main instructions and open the subsilver one.

Yes it does. It shows on the bottom of the page and can be enabled and disabled.

How would you put the karma received along with the date, user who sent it, and karma comment directly on the view profile page, and not just a link to it?

Hi, I'm installing this KarmaMod to my Phpbb 3.0.6 that I bridged to my Joomla site using RokBridge.
Everything is right except when I tried to access my forum using RokBrigde Link (http://localhost/joomla/forum) it show fatal error like this.

Code: Select all

Fatal error: Call to a member function toplist() on a non-object in C:\Program Files\XAMPP\htdocs\joomla\phpbb3\index.php on line 131
But when I access forum by it's original address (http://localhost/joomla/phpbb3/), everything's fine.
Anyone know how to sove this problem??

Hi, Lamer4o. I think you should edit your viewtopic_body.html and index_body.html by yourself.
Just try to put the code anywhere you think right on the files and see if the button showed up. Well it's really just use Trial and Error Method, because you're not using prosilver template (same as me).

P.S: Sorry for my english..
