Re: mChat new version

I had renamed my Administrators Group to a new name. Since I did this the actual permissions haven't carried. Sure I can go into permissions and what not and change things but to actually beable to delete and edit other users posts are not accesible to me anymore.

How would I go about changing the mChat administrator group to the name I changed my administrator group too?

The name has nothing to do with the permissions. I changed my Administrators group name to Board Owner and can still edit/delete to my hearts content.

Check the masks for the administrators group to ensure that they have the correct permissions (they must both the permission set for the group to be able to edit/delete messages as well as have moderator permissions...any moderator permission).

Code: Select all

				$mchat_edit = ($auth->acl_get('u_mchat_edit') && ($auth->acl_get('m_') || $user->data['user_id'] == $row['user_id'])) ? true : false;
				$mchat_del = ($auth->acl_get('u_mchat_delete') && ($auth->acl_get('m_') || $user->data['user_id'] == $row['user_id'])) ? true : false;

Is there a way to turn off the error sound? To use the description my members gave it... It sounds like someone farting or a pig snorting. They find it to be really annoying, and I'd like them to get used to this shoutbox because I really love the features.

Also, I'm having a big problem with accidental double posting. Any suggestions?

You can change it. The file is called error.swf and can be found in the mchat folder of your forum. make a new one and just overwrite the old one.

Concerning the double posting, would have to view your forum with guest viewing allowed.

What would I overwrite error.swf with? Just a blank file?

You can try an empty swf file...not sure what will happen though.

What were you suggesting I do with the swf file? I'm not really sure how to create a swf file with a different sound.

Pardon me if this has been addressed before, search on the topic did not turn up anything.

I know I'm missing a step in the installation (or fat fingered something) but I can't get the Chat Window to show up. The Chat controls show up, but they don't do anything.

Seeing this is in IE and in FF.

Firefox version 3.5.7, IE version 8.<whatever> (browser doesn't seem to be the issue, others seeing the same thing.)

Phpbb version: 3.0.6
mchat version: 1.2.17
other details needed?

i see the following errors in Firefox's error console:

Code: Select all

Error: The stylesheet http://www.ccridersscrc.com/phpBB3/mchat/mchat_prosilver.css was not loaded because its MIME type, "text/html", is not "text/css".

Leaving the original post up in case someone misses the bleeding obvious like I did: If you don't upload the mChat directory per the instructions, bad things happen!

<facepalm/>

Sorry for taking up space.
