Air-Warrior, I really can't tell anything from a picture. I would need a test account with the permissions to view the chat.
Its on a local pc for testing. If its not working correct, im not using it online.
Look at the picture and you can see that my site is loading in the chatwindow.

Yes I see that it is loading in the chat window, I also do not know where you have placed the code nor what you are using.

That would be like me showing a picture of my car engine to my mechanic and asking him why the acceleration isn't working.

Then you can ask me what u want to know.
Im using MKPortal with PHPBB forum.
Ik made all changes thats is writen in the install.xml. I did that 4 times becouse i thought i made a mistake somewhere. All 4 times same results, so its not a fault in the code changes.

Edit
When i make a change in MKPortal ACP.
Forum View
Show Forum inside MKPortal? yes no
When i make it yes then i have a problem, when i say no then its working fine.
Now i know that if its not forum software, its loading in chat window. (still hard to explain in english)

Change this in mchat.php

Code: Select all

$phpbb_root_path =  './';
to this

Code: Select all

$phpbb_root_path = (defined('PHPBB_ROOT_PATH')) ? PHPBB_ROOT_PATH : './';
see if that fixes it.

Correction, it isn't working with mkportal it is working with your forum. I really do not know why it wouldn't work (it should) so, if it were me, I would ask at the mkportal site.

Hi!

I was wondering... Is it possible to put the mChat box in overall_header with an online list to the right, so that people would be able to chat and see who is online on every page (including viewing topics and forums)? The phpBB "Who Is Online" list only shows "Users browsing this forum", and (I'm pretty sure) the current mChat online list only lists people on the mchat page.

If it's not too much to ask, what I'm asking for is pretty much any code/file edits necessary to grab all online users and also style edits (for the subsilver2 template) to put that online list in mchat.html.

To clarify, here is an image of what I'm looking for, from http://www.gowgamingclan.com/forums; if you want to check it out email me at pwnzor666@gmail.com or PM me here and I'll send you some administrator login info. You have to be logged in to see any forums.

This implementation I added myself on an obsolete version of mChat and phpBB several months ago, but it didn't do exactly what I wanted; it grabs stuff from viewonline, so it's fine on the index page but in a forum it just shows "Users Browsing this Forum:". Now I'm running a new site and I haven't been able to figure out how to implement exactly what I want on the latest mChat and phpBB versions. Any help is MUCH appreciated! :D

recently tried to install mChat Mod into Pro Silver SE following instructions in a topic from this forum. I was unable to get it working and in the end I manually removed the code from each section as described in the manual install instructions of the Mod.

This appears to have worked ok however, I now have display problems in the first post of a thread and also in the options for POLLs.

For example, when I am viewing a topic, I see the thread title, and it says class="first">THREAD TITLE

Can anyone suggest the best way to repair this issue or indeed what the issue is.

I have searched for this issue and found very little helpful information.

Many thanks.

Two questions to the mChat developers:

Question 1

I use the style "Twilight", and after I modified those style files by myself (since the installation didn't make the necessary changes in those style files), I can see now the "Chat" link at the top. Everything works well.

But what I want is a chat button like the other ones at the top of the "Twilight" style. i made the graphic files already, but i encounter big problems to make that graphic file appearing.

My question now is, how to give a button graphic to the mChat link?

Question 2

On another online forum, I use the style ProVistaBlue. mChat installed without problems, but I can't see the mChat anywhere, nor can I see the mChat configuration within the MODS section of the ACP. Why? How to solve?
Thanks for reading, good intentions, your time and a good answer.

@ SvenLittkowski

Question 2 :- Have you added the mchat_body.html to that style ?

Hello,
I'm not sure where i can ask about my problem.
I'm trying add user's avatar next to their messages in the mchat so i add something like that to code in mchat.php:

Code: Select all

u.user_avatar, u.user_avatar_type, u.user_avatar_width, u.user_avatar_height,
in the all queries at this file, it's now looks like for example:

Code: Select all

// Message edited...now read it
		$sql = 'SELECT m.*, u.username, u.user_colour, u.user_avatar, u.user_avatar_type, u.user_avatar_width, u.user_avatar_height, u.user_id as userid
					FROM (' . MCHAT_TABLE . ' m, ' . USERS_TABLE . ' u)
						WHERE m.user_id = u.user_id
					AND m.message_id = ' . $message_id . '
				ORDER BY m.message_id DESC';
i also add:

Code: Select all

'MCHAT_USER_AVATAR'		=> get_user_avatar($row['user_avatar'], $row['user_avatar_type'], 45, 45),
in all block code started with:

Code: Select all

		$template->assign_block_vars('mchatrow', array(
so now, i can use it mchat_body.html like

Code: Select all

<span style="float:left;">{mchatrow.MCHAT_USER_AVATAR}{mchatrow.MCHAT_USERNAME_FULL}
and it works only when i manually refresh my forum,

My question is what i must change in java script code that will refresh automatically ??

Sorry for my english...

Greet

You have to edit all the queries, particularly the 'read' mode (for the js) and the 'default' mode.
