This is a great mod and one I have been looking for for weeks! Thank you so much for uploading it -

I am having a bit of trouble, though. The skin I use is based off of subsilver2. I modified the relevant code as best I could, but nothing is showing up, though nothing is broken either. However you did mention that you can add the forum descriptions based off of setting permissions per forum - where would I look or should be seeing the ability to set those permissions? I've dug through my ACP but I'm not seeing anything.

So we've got it installed - it just isn't working yet. Would a skin based off of subsilver2 need further modification or am I just overlooking something as simple as where to "turn on" the permissions?

i want unistall this similar mod and install Topic descriptions by 00mohgta7, but I do not want to lose the descriptions that have until now in my bd forum.

00mohgta7, what sql queries need your mod to be installed? i unknown this when i read the file install_topic_desc.php. If I knew this maybe I could change the names of rows and tables right in phpmydmin

sorry for my bad english, thanks.

Code: Select all

ALTER TABLE phpbb_topics ADD topic_desc varchar(255) NOT NULL DEFAULT '';
INSERT INTO phpbb_acl_options (auth_option, is_local) VALUES ('f_topic_desc', 1);
true? thanks.

Hallo,

Instal ok, but when I click on new topic throws the following error.

Code: Select all

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_IF, expecting ')' in /data/h/a/hardsound.biz/web/posting.php on line 418
posting.php / lines 415-423

Code: Select all

// Set some default variables
$uninit = array('post_attachment' => 0, 'poster_id' => $user->data['user_id'], 'enable_magic_url' => 0, 'topic_status' => 0, 'topic_type' => POST_NORMAL, 'post_subject' => '', 'topic_title' => '', 'post_time' => 0, 'post_edit_reason' => '', 'notify_set' => 0, 'topic_desc' => ''

	if (!isset($post_data[$var_name]))
	{
		$post_data[$var_name] = $default_value;
	}
}
unset($uninit);
line 418

Code: Select all

if (!isset($post_data[$var_name]))
Help us resolve this error?

It looks like you didn't apply all of the edits correctly. The array( doesn't have a closing ); on it, so it's shooting a parse error. Please double check your edits to make sure they are exactly as they should be, and reply back here.
