What did you do in \includes\functions_user.php , with the user_options value? In phpBB 3.0.6, this is set to 230271, while the installation instructions assume it is set to 895.

I have phpBB 3.0.6 and had to make two manual changes......

In includes\functions_user.php, as previously mentioned in another post, I made the following update:
Instead of finding

Code: Select all

		'user_options'		=> 895,
Find

Code: Select all

		'user_options'		=> 230271,
Replace with

Code: Select all

		'user_options'		=> 1919,
		// above was 230271 and changed with the -PM to new user- MOD
The question I have though is what does 230271 do and is it OK to change to 1919??

Then, I couldn't find the mod anywhere in my ACP. So, I did the following:
  1. From the System tab in the ACP, go to the Module Management section and select Administration Control Panel
  2. Select .MODS
  3. In the input box on the left, create a category called Welcome PM and then click Create New Module.
  4. Select module type as "Category" and ensure the module is enabled and click submit.
  5. Select the new module category called "Welcome PM" on the next page.
  6. From the drop-down on the far right of the page (next to the "Add Module" button), select "Welcome PM Settings" and then click the Add Module button.
  7. Voila! The mod is now available for you to make updates from the .MODS tab.

Im thinking this

1919 minus 895 = 1024 meaning that the idea in the first place was the increase the 895 value to 1919 a diffrence of 1024. Have anyone tried to add that to the current number like this.

230271 plus 1024 = 231295

Worth a shoot.

I've left the setting as 3.06 has it set (230271), and the mod is working fine.

Hi.

I've just been going through the ACP, and noticed that if I click on the Welcome PM Settings under users & groups I'm given this error. I've made a test user to see if it would receive the welcome pm, and nothing happened. I know it use to work when I was running phpbb3.05 so does anyone know why this might be happening since I updated to 3.06. Or is there any way to fix this error?...
forum is at http://sniperelite.nzaus.co.nz/forum

The MOD table is not there, try running the SQL query again. Make sure to change the table prefix if you use anything other then phpbb_
The box said 'You need Windows XP or better' .... so I installed linux.

Is there any way to undo the character limit?

Id like to send out a longer message, than what it is allowing me.

Thanks,

The last version allows you to do that, no?

Support Request Template
What version of phpBB are you using? phpBB 3.0.6
What is your board's URL? http://www.monreso.ch
Is your board a fresh install or a conversion? Fresh Install
Do you have any MODs installed? Yes
Is registration required to reproduce this issue? Yes
What styles do you currently have installed? private one
What language(s) is your board currently using? french
What is your level of experience? New to PHP but not phpBB
When did your problem begin? from board installation
Please describe your problem.
Hi,
I have setup that all my users have a pop window showing when getting a new PM. This works, I can see it in the ACP - user's preferences.
I have setup this mod "Welcome PM on first login" and this works too. New users have a PM in their inbox when they log in for the first time.

The problem is that for this first PM, the pop up window does not show. It does for other PMs but not for the first one sent automatically.
In overall_header.html I added:

Code: Select all

alert({S_NEW_PM});
just after

Code: Select all

<!-- IF S_USER_PM_POPUP -->
and just before

Code: Select all

if ({S_NEW_PM})
		{
			var url = '{UA_POPUP_PM}';
			window.open(url.replace(/&/g, '&'), '_phpbbprivmsg', 'height=225,resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes, width=400');
		}
	<!-- ENDIF -->
and the result is 0 - like if the system does not see this new PM.

What can I do to correct this?
Thank you.

(My board is brand new so you can create an account if you want to make tests, I will delete them later.)

I am currently upgrading to 3.0.6 and I was wondering the same thing! Does anyone have any information on this? Untill I know more about this value I think I am going to stick to the value given bij 3.0.6.
