I just installed this mod on a forum I work on...

I had to hack 1/2 of the code to get it to work correctly.

Why do you use the config table? The 255 char limit makes this practiaclly unusable.

Not to mention the functions file is an utter disaster. Why are you merging other information into the $user->data array?

Did you notice that v2.0.0 is being worked on right now, with a separate table?

No, I have not looked at it.

But why would one release a version like this to the Mod DB, then remake make one the way it should have been in the first place?

You should not release something to the Mod DB unless it is a high quality product written the right way and you are proud to have your name on it.

Hey, exreaction, I understand what you are saying, but what matters is that im doing it the right way now. Keep any rude comments to yourself, please, as the posting rules say. I already released alpha of the new "right" way. You can find it in the old topic.

I like the idea of this mod but it only sends a PM? I want a way to force any new user that signs up to read a PM saying read my rules and what not or something along those lines.
The box said 'You need Windows XP or better' .... so I installed linux.

Then if you have a rules page, what you can do it explain your site to the user and and maybe explain some rules, then tell him/her to "look at all of the rules here" and the link will redirect the user to the rules page you have.

I happen to know it is not a copy of anything.
This is a phpBB3 MOD, the link you posted was for a phpBB2 MOD.

Sorry, not going to happen. And if you have a problem, you should take it up with a staff member.
Thanks.

Maybe I did something incorrectly....BUT
I am getting reports from new users that say that they are getting multiple messages.

does anyone understand the flow enough to help me figure out:
1) WHY this might be taking place
2) what steps I can take to remove the duplication.

Thanks In Advance!
