Yes, uninstall the current one and reinstall the new one. If you're using Frans already, you can just upgrade, if you're using the one from this topic then you do need to uninstall it and install Frans latest. I don't think the table is a big deal as Frans uses a different table then this one does.

I installed this MOD, uploaded the changed files and new files, but when I go to the ACP, I don't see anything that refers to the WPM....

Did I miss something? I've cleared the cache, and its still not showing up...... :(

Have you added the module? ACP - System - Administration Control Panel

Add "Welcome PM Settings".
I accept PM support for phpBB3. Please do not PM me with MOD or Style support and requests.

Ok, went through and reloaded the edited files, and now I'm getting a message that the table sallebb.phpbb_wpm doesn't exist.

It does, and I can see it in my table structure......... :shock:

When I do add the module and click on its tab, I get:

Code: Select all

SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Table 'sallebb.WPM_TABLE' doesn't exist [1146]

SQL

SELECT * FROM WPM_TABLE WHERE wpm_config_id = 1

BACKTRACE

CALL: dbal->sql_error()

FILE: includes/functions_module.php

CALL: acp_wpm->main()

FILE: adm/index.php

CALL: p_master->load_active()
Which is odd because I followed the instructions in the WPM 2.2.3 xml file which has you create the db table with:

Code: Select all

CREATE TABLE phpbb_wpm (
 wpm_config_id int(3) NOT NULL auto_increment,
 wpm_enable tinyint(1) unsigned NOT NULL,
 wpm_send_id mediumint(8) NOT NULL,
 wpm_preview tinyint(1) unsigned NOT NULL,
 wpm_variables varchar(255) character set utf8 collate utf8_bin NOT NULL,
 wpm_subject varchar(100) character set utf8 collate utf8_bin NOT NULL,
 wpm_message mediumtext character set utf8 collate utf8_bin NOT NULL,
 wpm_version varchar(255) character set utf8 collate utf8_bin NOT NULL,
 PRIMARY KEY (wpm_config_id)
) ;

INSERT INTO phpbb_wpm (wpm_config_id, wpm_enable, wpm_send_id, wpm_preview, wpm_variables, wpm_subject, wpm_message, wpm_version) VALUES(1, 1, 2, 0, '', 'Welcome to {SITE_NAME}!', 'Hello, {USERNAME}!\n\nWelcome to {SITE_NAME} ({SITE_DESC})\n\nYou registered on {USER_REGDATE}. According to your input, your email is {USER_EMAIL} and you live in timezone {USER_TZ}. It is nice to know that you speak {USER_LANG_LOCAL}.\n\nYou can contact us here: {BOARD_CONTACT} or here: {BOARD_EMAIL}, whichever you prefer, at anytime. Thank you for choosing us.\n\n-Thank you for registering at {SITE_NAME}!\n\nThanks, {SENDER}', '2.2.2');
So what gives?? :shock:

I can think of only two (2) reasons, at the time of this post (06/04/2008 @ 22:38 CDT).
1. phpbb_ may not be your database prefix_ (it looks to me like your database doesn't use a prefix_ )
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Table 'sallebb.WPM_TABLE' doesn't exist [1146]
2. You may have missed this step
#-----[ OPEN ]------------------------------------------
#
includes/constants.php
#
#-----[ FIND ]------------------------------------------
#
?>
#
#-----[ BEFORE, ADD ]------------------------------------------
#
define('WPM_TABLE', $table_prefix . 'wpm');

So if my db prefix is different, how can I change it in the MOD to use the prefix I AM using??

Do you have access to phpMyAdmin (or other suitable database tool, in most cases this is provided by your hosting provider) ?
You should be able to just rename your table replacing phpbb_ with the prefix_ your database is using.

It appears my db is using the phpbb_ prefix. One of the tables I have currently is: phpbb_profile_fields

So I'm a little confused as to why there is a problem........ :(

When you were looking and found the table "phpbb_profile_fields", did you also see if indeed the table "phpbb_wpm" was there as well ?
If yes, recheck edits to includes/contants.php, if no, rerun the SQL command.

Yes, the phpbb_wpm table is there, and has data in the table.

The constants.php file (down at the bottom where the edit was made) shows:

Code: Select all

define('WORDS_TABLE', $table_prefix . 'words');
define('ZEBRA_TABLE', $table_prefix . 'zebra');

// Additional tables

define('WPM_TABLE', $table_prefix . 'wpm');

?>
