We need this for email. I know some people say, what about important automated emails from the bank, etc? You just check your bulk folder right away and okay those addresses. A spammer can't keep up with millions of unique questions.

In your ucp_register.html file:

Find:

Code: Select all

{L_AB_QUESTION}:
Replace:

Code: Select all

{L_AB_QUESTION}
But it could be a better idea to write question as "four plus three equals to?".

The SQL is in your database. You can use phpmyadmin to access is. You can add the question in the acp.

http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 3#p3244163

That is a tutorial on how to use it.

To find it, would depend on teh domain panel your hosting co have installed. You will find it called various things like DB Manager etc.

So dependant on your control panel you will find a link to run it.

I still didn't understand much, I tried uploading phpMyAdmin but it doesn't work... Would the old mod work?

^That one is much simpler and less complicated but it's for phpBB 2.x.

NO.

Okay, longer answer: phpBB3 is built on completely new code as compared to phpBB2, so mods for 2 won't work for 3 and vice-versa. They do similar things, but speak completely different languages.

I am rather happy to see that this mod is available for 3. I've been having some problems with spammers lately, the old mod stopped 'em dead, this should work at least as well! :mrgreen:
