The term is actually BOM and means Byte Order Mark.Hippie459MN wrote:I don't know what file structure that saves as but try using something like notepad++ as it saves in utf-8 format and not boom like standard notepad and other apps. When things get saved in boom format it will add extra characters to your file and the outcome is not what you would hope for.
Best part is, Notpad++ is free too.
Yes it is compatible.nounours18200 wrote:A newbie question: is this Mod compatible with any phpBB style ? I use the Black Pearl style (http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 4&t=574818)
Nothing to do with this mod, has to do with some invitation mod you had installed.dankybett wrote:Help, I have a problem.
When the registration question is answered correctly, I get this error:
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]
Table 'username_phpbb3.INVITATIONS_TABLE' doesn't exist
Can any one help?
You edited language/en/ucp.php an didn't save the file as "UTF-8 without BOM". Those "weird" symbols are UTF quotation marks.Ltshark wrote:the forums are located at http://ltshark.com/Test/ and u can see the word search is screwed up, plus if you try to register that whole message is screwed up. But it is all working, just those wierd symbols everywhere. I tried to open the save as through notepad++ then ftp'd through Filezilla, till there. Later I will try to take the backups and start fresh again on adding the mod then ftp again........
