it clearly states in the author notes the following:

Before installing this mod, run the edits to the .htaccess and browse to yourforum/test-t1.html
If it gives you a 404 error or a 500 error, remove it and do not continue installing this mod.
Your host doesn't support mod_rewrite and you should probably look for a new host.

I did read that. And I also tested before installing.
When I type in MyForym/test-t1.html I get an empty page (in correct board-design and all) that says: "The chosen topic does not exist".. Is that the same as a 404-error?

When installing this mod does it affect our current url's or only new ones?

Also if it anything is affected can we keep the old posts. I guess I'm asking can I install this on a live board with previous discussions?

alexisfr wrote:Hi there,

I am having a different pagination issue from the one already fixed in this thread. The latest page number in view_topic does not point to the last page of the thread. It actually points to the next page relatively to the highest page number displayed .

Ex. if the following links are displayed: Page 9 of 28 • 1 ... 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 ... 28
clicking on 28 would point me to the page 13.

Anyone with the same issue?

Guys,

I found an error in the functions_seo.php file that was generating this issue.
At line 232:

Code: Select all

$page_string .= ($on_page == $total_pages) ? '<strong>' . $total_pages . '</strong>' : '<a href="' . append_seo_sid($base_url . 's' . (($i - 1) * $per_page) . $append) . '">' . $total_pages . '</a>';
should be replaced by

Code: Select all

$page_string .= ($on_page == $total_pages) ? '<strong>' . $total_pages . '</strong>' : '<a href="' . append_seo_sid($base_url . 's' . (($total_pages - 1) * $per_page) . $append) . '">' . $total_pages . '</a>';

Hi

I saw this mod after posting here about Any good SEO plugin for phpBB 3 like Vbulletine vBSEO? http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 4&t=925345

So is this mod like Vbulletine vBSEO? is there more alternatives to this one?

rgsd :)

I have installed the SEO mod in my local setup. Have gone through all the threads & have made the corrections appropriately.

When I click on a topic, the url is as below
forum/test-topic-t18.html-st=0&sk=t&sd=a
Just want to know if this is right?

There are duplicate urls as below,
forum/test-topic-t18.html#p29 (when i click on a topic from the viewforum.php & then click on a particular post)
forum/test-topic-t18.html-st=0&sk=t&sd=a#p29 (when i click on a topic title in viewtopic.php & then click on a particular post)
When can we expect the duplicate content issue be solved? Has anyone worked on it?

Hello,

Thanks for this great mod 8-)

I just installed this mod and it seems to be working fine, but when i click a topic with the symbols @ ! * in the topics name i get 500 Internal Server Error error.

Here is a example..

Working: http://www.mixjunkies.com/lee-burridge- ... a-t17.html

Not working: http://www.mixjunkies.com/inertia-@-the ... 8-t45.html

SORTED THANKS TO FLYCKER :D

Some improvements to the clean_url() in functions_seo.php:

Code: Select all

function clean_url($url)
{
   $url = trim(str_replace(array('Re:', 're:'), '', $url));
   //$find = array('?', '#', '%', '?', '^', '.', '/', ' ', '_', ')', '(', '[', ']', ':', '.');
   $find = array(' ', '@', '=', '$', '&amp', '+', '~', '`', '?', '#', '%', '!', '^', '.', '/', '_', ')', '(', '[', ']', '{', '}', ':', ',', '<', '>', ';', '|', '*', '"', '\'', '\\');
   $url = str_replace($find, '-', censor_text($url));
   // remove all duplicates "-"
   $url = ereg_replace("-+", '-', $url);
   // remove the last "-", to avoid this "/test--t14.html"
   if ($url{strlen($url)-1} == '-')
   {
      $url = substr($url, 0, -1);
   }
   return utf8_clean_string($url);
}

Find:

Code: Select all

'S_FORUM_ACTION'		=> append_sid("{$phpbb_root_path}viewforum.$phpEx", "f=$forum_id&start=$start"),
It does not find this in viewforum.php.
