No, there is no alteration in any file
Just do what is mentioned in DIY instructions at the bottom of the install file...

Thanks, EXreaction!

Between all my added mods and users who need hand-holding, this is the best! :)

EXreaction wrote:It appears that the template used for the FAQ was designed for about 8 rows. I just noticed this now.

In styles/(style)/template/faq_body.html is:

Code: Select all

<!-- IF faq_block.S_ROW_COUNT == 4 -->
I submitted a change suggestion for it here: http://www.phpbb.com/bugs/phpbb3/ticket ... t_id=31405

If you know how to use diffs, I submitted a diff with it as well which will fix the problem you have. :)
I don't know how to use diff, either, but I puzzled through yours and made the changes manually.

Very nice, thank you! You guys are teaching me more and more every day! :D

Sorry, EXreaction, or someone who's gone through this?

Exactly which directories and files need to be set writable? I have the mod working, but I am a bit nervous that too many things are set 777 or 664. I host my board on a local machine, anyway. :?

Re: FAQ Manager

I've uploaded the files for this Mod, but in System>Module Management>ACP it says
"Language file faq_manager.php couldn't be opened."

This is the first mod I've done that affects the ACP, so my first question is:
1. Is this where these types of MODs usually are?
2. What should I do about the file that can't be opened?

Sorry for the hand-holding! Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Well, this mod requires no edits at all.
So, either some files were not uploaded correctly, or there is a problem with permissions.. Some files and folders need to have 777 permission for this mod to work, have you done that already?
