Works great. Install went smooth. I thought I made a mistake and installed the module twice. Now in the mods section I have to choices for the same faq manager. How do i delete one of them?

Thanks,

Go to the system tab->Administration Control Panel->.MODS. Then just delete the extra one. :)

Re: FAQ Manager

I wanted to check this on my localhost first, but get these errors

Code: Select all

Warning: include(./common.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\wamp2\www\phpBB3\mod\FAQ Manager\contrib\install_modules.php on line 14

Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening './common.php' for inclusion (include_path='.;C:\php5\pear') in C:\wamp2\www\phpBB3\mod\FAQ Manager\contrib\install_modules.php on line 14

Fatal error: Call to a member function session_begin() on a non-object in C:\wamp2\www\phpBB3\mod\FAQ Manager\contrib\install_modules.php on line 17
Now I don't know PHP but I figured what the heck,
So I made changes to Line 12 and Line 19
Then I got an Error in Line 27, after some experimentation I got past it to line 37, at that point I gave up and decided to manually install the files, but it isn't showing up in ACP (obviously, I guess)
Help?

Ok I figured out how to activate it manually
In the ACP -> Module Management -> ACP in .MODS
I enabled the FAQ Manager, then logged back into the ACP and the .MODS tab was there & showed the FAQ Manager
This looks like it will be very handy!

No, that file needed to be put in the root phpBB directory.

If you've installed the modules it is fine.

Right now the mod looks for files to edit in language/xx/
Is it possible to make it look also in language/xx/mods/ directory?

EXreaction wrote:Yes, but why would you need that?
Because there are some mods which add a lang file in mods directory (eg : evil's rules page)
Rules in my forum is a veeeeerrryyyy long post and I wanted to create them using your mod, rather than editing the help_rules_page.php.
I altered evil's mod to use help_rules_page.php in lang/xx rather in lang/xx/mods dir, but it would be nice if lang files this kind remain separate from the others in the forum (keep things more organized)
So, if it is not big trouble, I would appreciate it if you could tell me how to add both dirs.. ;)

I haven't tested it, but:

Open
includes/acp/acp_faq_manager.php

Find:

Code: Select all

						while (($file1 = readdir($dh1)) !== false)
						{
After Add

Code: Select all

							if (strpos($file1, ".$phpEx") === false && is_dir($phpbb_root_path . 'language/' . $file1))
							{
								$dh2 = @opendir($phpbb_root_path . 'language/' . $file);
								if ($dh2)
								{
									while (($file2 = readdir($dh2)) !== false)
									{
										if (strpos($file2, 'help_') === 0 && substr($file2, -(strlen($phpEx) + 1)) === '.' . $phpEx)
										{
											$list[] = $file . '/' . substr($file2, 0, -(strlen($phpEx) + 1));
										}
									}
									closedir($dh2);
								}
							}

Oops

Code: Select all

$dh2 = @opendir($phpbb_root_path . 'language/' . $file);
Should be:

Code: Select all

$dh2 = @opendir($phpbb_root_path . 'language/' . $file . '/' . $file1);
