After downloading the mod, in folder root/language you see a folder en. Copy this folder with a name matching your lang (i think yours is nb). After doing that, enter nb folder and use notepad++ to open the two files located there...

You'll see a lot of lines there... For example :

Code: Select all

	'ACP_FAQ_MANAGER'			=> 'FAQ Manager',
The part you must translate is FAQ Manager. Translate these word to your lang (don't touch the ' and make sure you don't delete any commas. Also if you need to place an apostrophe somewhere, put a \ right before it.. Example:
If you need to translate

Code: Select all

	'DO_NOT_DO_THIS'			=> ' ',
wrong:

Code: Select all

	'DO_NOT_DO_THIS'			=> ' Don't do this',
Correct

Code: Select all

	'DO_NOT_DO_THIS'			=> ' Don\'t do this',
After finishing, make sure that you save file with encoding UTF8 WITHOUT BOM (Notepadd++ menu Format-->encode in utf8 without bom or convert to utf8 without bom)

The mod will appear in .MODS category in ACP, after you create the module
(From DIY Instructions in install xml file:)
If you do not know how or do not want to install modules yourself you may use the included install_modules.php script in the contrib/ folder.
Simply upload it to your root phpBB directoy, view the file in your web browser, and the modules will get added automatically. Be sure to delete it once you are done.

GOOD LUCK... ;)

Have you done this part?

My mods in MODDB:
Add Homepage link in header - Change user activity post limit - Post number in viewtopic
If you need support click on the support tab there and post your question.
Do not PM me - chances of viewing my PMs are way thinner than viewing the support question in the customization DB...

Hmmm - getting the error message:
"Unable to update the file. Please check the file permissions for the file you are attempting to edit."

I've gone through every file I installed for it and set permissions to 777 and still it doesn't work.
Are there any other files than these?

root/adm/style/acp_faq_manager.html,
root/includes/acp/info/acp_faq_manager.php,
root/includes/acp/acp_faq_manager.php,
root/language/en/mods/faq_manager.php,
root/language/en/mods/info_acp_faq_manager.php,

Silly me! I hadn't figured I'd need to edit any pre-mod phpbb3 files...
I just set /language/en/help_bbcode.php permissions to 777 and yay it's working!

i just renamed the en folder to nb and it worked.. the part the the forum members can see is still norwegian, so it doesn't matter if the menus and such in the ACP is in english.. but if someone wants it i can still make a norwegian version..

Sorted it out, I had a problem with a donation mod, moved that and was able to see this mod in the .mod tab!

Hello,

I've installed this mod (phpbb 3.05 and using the included install_modules.php - very easy :) ) and can see the FAQ Manager under the .MOD tab in ACP.

I can see an ability to edit faq and bbcode - is there a way to add a faq or must I simply edit the two existing ones?

Remember the file in question is the /root/content/language/en/help_faq.php

Note the "faq.php" found in the forum root directory ;]
