Yes, I did all the possible combinations of sorting, with no errors.

I think a great addition to this would be incorporating the following columns:
  • # of times downloaded
  • type of attachment (i.e., extension)
  • a link to the original post
Also, the ability to sort by any of those columns and to search through the attachments by partial filename, extension, etc.

Hello,

I've installed and uploaded the root files, then uploaded and attempted to run the module.php but was given the following error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in [**my website**]/install/module.php on line 23

Not sure what's going wrong as this is such an easy mod to install.

Could it be that I've somehow corrupted my install folder?

Any thoughts you might have would be greatly appreciated.

I'm running 3.0.4

Sure. Try to upload module.php to the root of your board and run it in your browser, something like ukbeg.com/forum/module.php ;)

wow... 4 months since the last post in this thread...

can someone tell the status of this mod? does it work fine with phpbb 3.05 and/or the new 3.06? i've read all 11 pages and see some problems here and there... have they all been resolved?

thanks for your time...

Actually, you can install the module through the ACP regular module management. Nevertheless, try the following trick:

Code: Select all

OPEN
module.php

FIND
$module = &new acp_modules();

REPLACE WITH
$module = new acp_modules();

Hi! Nice MOD. I use it for a forum where users post a lot of pictures.

I have a suggestion though. I needed to give the Moderators the means to manage attachments, since we have a lot of them. But on the other hand I don't want moderators to mess with any other forum settings, so I had to add a hack to the permissions so that the manage attachments MOD had its own administrator class permission setting (a_manageattach) instead of using the system permission a_attach.

This hack involved one SQL insert and 2 edits.

includes/acp/info/acp_manage_attachments.php:

FIND:

Code: Select all

				'attachments'	=> array('title' => 'ACP_MANAGE_ATTACHMENTS', 'auth' => 'acl_a_attach', 'cat' => array('ACP_ATTACHMENTS'))
REPLACE WITH:

Code: Select all

				'attachments'	=> array('title' => 'ACP_MANAGE_ATTACHMENTS', 'auth' => 'acl_a_manageattach', 'cat' => array('ACP_ATTACHMENTS'))
language/en/acp/permissions_phpbb.php:

FIND:

Code: Select all

        'acl_a_attach'          => array('lang' => 'Can alter attachment related settings', 'cat' => 'posting'),
ADD AFTER:

Code: Select all

       'acl_a_manageattach'    => array('lang' => 'Can manage attachments', 'cat' => 'posting'),
Could you integrate this change into your MOD? Thanks.

Hi DrStrangelove,
Currently I don't plan to add a separate permission for this module, but if you want, please feel free to post the whole instruction for the option you created as an addon for the MOD :)

And thanks for the kind evaluation of this module.
Regards.
