hate to sound a total numpty an all. but how do I do the SQL bit of the edit.

damn damn damn
I did a restore to just before I did the update as I was getting all sorts of errors now I get

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Table 'phpbb_ads' already exists [1050]

An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists.
any suggestions on what to do now it took me all day to get the edits done yup Im slow very slow lol
Will I have to do a complete install and restore old database?

When i installed the mod then went to the .mod page, i recieved an error (table 'board4.annoucments..... does not exit.
I searched the forum and found the INSTALL file to update my SQL database. During that install an error came up "table 'phpbb_annoc.... already exist'
I know very little about SQL, but it sounds like i have to rename the table from phpbb to board4. Is this correct and how do i do this?

above link shows you how to execute the sql. alternatively, you can make use of the installer mentioned in the third post of this topic.

not sure what you did or were trying to do when you got that error message but this phpbb_ads table appears to be from a mod other then this one.

if i recall correctly the install file tries to drop the announcement centre table first, then recreates it.
i would recommend to have a look at your database via phpMyAdmin and delete and announcement_centre tables you see there and then try to run the install file again.

Thanks for that lefty, good job I DL all the files I edited, Managed to get ACP back up and running, Ill get around to doing the SQL in the morning, I say I got admin back but all php's to Members has vanished ie: if I click on the manage members it brings up a blank page, so evidantly somehow I(the numpty managed to do something to that page any suggestions what page I need to upload etc
this is the page it goes to
http://mywebsite/tlc/adm/index.php?sid= ... e=overview
but its a blank white page ooooooooooooopppppppps
Ill try searching the forum for the answer but I doubt my logic works lol

Finally got it installed, looks brilliant thanks Lefty, just one problem then I'm sorted, Ive tried all sorts to correct this but no luck.
My problem is I can either have the MODs announcement center OR I can post a reply not both.
when I try to reply to a post or make a new topic all that comes up is the smillies and a blank page

this is the code that I get this problem with on line 22 if I do not put your extra coding in which is

Code: Select all

$acp_announce = false)

Code: Select all

* Fill smiley templates (or just the variables) with smilies, either in a window or inline
*/
function generate_smilies($mode, $forum_id, $acp_announce = false)
{
	global $auth, $db, $user, $config, $template;
	global $phpEx, $phpbb_root_path;

	if ($mode == 'window')
	{
		if ($forum_id)
		{
			$sql = 'SELECT forum_style
				FROM ' . FORUMS_TABLE . "
				WHERE forum_id = $forum_id";
			$result = $db->sql_query_limit($sql, 1);
			$row = $db->sql_fetchrow($result);
			$db->sql_freeresult($result);

			$user->setup('posting', (int) $row['forum_style']);
		}
		else
did that make sense

Still cant get it installed. I think my pronlem is with the SQL. When i go to the .MOD tab in the acp, i get teh following error:
General Error

CALL: acp_announcements_centre->main()

FILE: adm/index.php

I went into MySQL manager and deleted the annoucment table. I tried to reinstall it and got the following error message:
General Error

When i go back to MySQL and look, the annoucment table is there again.
I recently upgraded from phpBB2.xx to 3.0.4
The only other mod installed is the antibot question mod.
I used Automod when i installed the announcment center. All the files were installed except for the subsilver files which i added myself.
Any ideas?

That looks like the include/constants.php file isn't updated.

you would need to provide some more information, have you doublechecked your edits, especially the template ones. did you purge your cache and refreshed your templates? i am assuming the announcement centre is turned on.

i would say the same thing, doublecheck that your includes/constant.php file is a. edited and b. uploaded.

Thats the thing Lefty there is no error message. the page is blank white with the smilies in a line.
if I place the original fuctions_posting.php back up I get :

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ',', expecting '{' in /home/content/mysite/html/tlc/includes/functions_posting.php on line 22

Smilies
:D :) ;) :( :o :shock: :? 8-) :lol: :x :P :oops: :cry: :evil: :twisted: :roll: :!: :?: :idea: :arrow: :| :mrgreen: :geek: :ugeek:

would it be best if I put the whole page coding up here, or do you think it would be another page?
