[BETA] Simplified Evil Quick Reply

Post by stokerpiller »

MOD title: Simplified Evil Quick Reply
MOD description:This is my version of the Evil Quick Reply Mod. I have been using it for a long time, and I am happy about it. There is no known bugs. Very easy to install.
I see this more like a TIP than a mod.

The Simplified Evil Quick Reply is as simple as it gets. It does nothing else than adding a quick reply form.
There is no BBCodes, Smilies or anything else.
Use the original Mod http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 9&t=595969 or one of the other Quick Reply mods if You want a more advanced quick reply form.

Thanks to EviL<3 for making the original Mod!

The mod sounds great but it isnt working for me.

I have followed all the instructions and made all the edits, but the quick reply doesnt show up.

Then I went ahead and changed this code:
<!-- S_QR_ENABLED -->
<!-- INCLUDE posting_qr_body.html -->
<!-- ENDIF -->

To this:
<!-- INCLUDE posting_qr_body.html -->
After making this edit, the quick reply does show, but it doesnt work when you click on submit.

Any ideas of what I am doing wrong?

Thank you.

I havent edited that file at all yet.

But this is the code in there, so I assume it already is enabled?
// Some little config for the quick reply, allows the admin to change these default values through the database.
$qr_config = array(
'enabled' => true, // Disable it easily
'display_subject' => false, // Do you want the subject line to be displayed
'hide_box' => false, // Shall the box be hidden on pageload?
'resize' => false, // Display the buttons to resize the textarea?
);

Try this in the viewtopic_body.html:

Code: Select all

<!-- IF not S_IS_BOT and not S_IS_LOCKED and S_USER_LOGGED_IN -->
	<!-- INCLUDE posting_qr_body.html -->
<!-- ENDIF -->

Well, it works on all my boards.
Have you uploaded the include/functions_quick_reply.php to the folder includes?

yea all the files are in place, but the buttons dont seem to do anything. Do I need to change any permissions? Or make changes to the Database?

jesus

I got it.

Just needed to add a simple Enter to the viewtopic.php.

Before:

Code: Select all

include($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/functions_quick_reply.' . $phpEx);
quick_reply($topic_id, $forum_id, $topic_data);
page_footer();

?>

After (now works)

Code: Select all

include($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/functions_quick_reply.' . $phpEx);
quick_reply($topic_id, $forum_id, $topic_data);

page_footer();

?>
:roll:

Thank you very much for your help stocker. (tusind tak)
