That should not be a find, sorry about that, you can just ignore the second find or go download the package again.

Hi mtotheikle...
So when I get a PM will this take me to Administrate the user? How does this work? I get about 2-4 per day.
Thanks

This MOD only works if the username, user IP, or user email is listed on stopfourmspam.com. If any of the users information is listed it will send you a PM saying that a new user has registered on you site and his/her username, email or IP has been listed as a spammer. Currently it does not have a link to administrate the user, but that is not a bad idea. If you see a spammer on your site and it was not noticed by the system you should report that user here so that other forums will not be affected by the spammer. I plan on making an ACP section where you can add users to that site through your ACP, or when you ban a member, adding an option to automatically add that users information to the site.

Do not get signed up for stop forum spam. I had no idea that this was going to happen and I'm sure Mike didn't either, but I have been overloaded in my PMs and email. Over 200 PMs and the same in my email telling me about watch out for blah blah... I can't get it turned off. I went to the stop site got on the forum and emailed the admin telling them to stop sending, but they keep coming.

That would be because of this MOD, if you have lots of users registering and their email, username, or IP is listed on the site it will send you a PM. I will try to get a new release out soon which will help with this. Can you copy one of the PMs over here that you got to make sure it is from this system.

I have a very small forum. I Just started it 3 months ago. No one has registered for over a week now. I got home from work and over another 200 was in my email. I have never seen anything like this. Here is a copy of one that are all the same.

Hello Abera,

You have received a new private message from "Spammer Bot" to your account
on "___" with the following subject:

New Potential Spammer

You can view your new message by clicking on the following link:

http://___.com/ucp.php?i=pm&folder=inbox

You have requested that you be notified on this event, remember that you
can always choose not to be notified of new messages by changing the
appropriate setting in your profile.

--
Thanks, The Management

From Russ (the admin) at Stop Forum Spam
Is anyone else receiving messages or just this guy?

If it is the MOD do I have to uninstall to stop the PM's and email?
Thanks

The emails are not coming from Stop Forum Spam, they are coming from your site. I do not know how you are receiving over 200 pms with the same information if no one is registering on your site. Are you getting just 200 emails and only 1 pm or 200 emails and 200 pms as well?

When I got up this morning and brought the site up the PM Popup was there. I went to my inbox and it said that I have PMs in hold. To make it easy I went to the PM Spy. and the whole page lit up. Not one but, page after page I had to delete nothing but, PMs. Then my email also was going nuts.

I'm not sure why it would be sending you emails over and over again. You are getting the emails because your preferences are set up to notify you of new PM's via email. All I can say is check your edits and if that does not help uninstall the one edit and I will go do some more testing, however I have not been able to have this happen to me so far. Anyone else having this problem?

It says that I can change (in my profile) that I can elect not to be notified, but I see that no where at SFS.

If you disable that, phpBB will never send you emails about new PM's. However again if no one is registering on your site, then you should not be getting these PM's to begin with so please check to make sure that you edited includes/ucp/ucp_register.php

This is what is showing in my edit:

/*
* @Automatic Spammer Dection MOD
*/
include($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/class_spammers.' . $phpEx);
spammers::check_data($data);

Can I just comment this out for now to see if it stops? I wasn't getting any of this until I installed the MOD and registered at SFS.
