I went back and looked and I see the style you are using mountains2 is based off of prosilver.

I am not sure how or with what you are doing these edits, I recommend notepad++

Open: index_body.html
find:

Code: Select all

<!-- IF S_USER_LOGGED_IN -->
<!-- INCLUDE mchat_body.html -->
<!-- ENDIF -->
Delete this code.

Open: overall_header.html
find:

Code: Select all

<li class="icon-bump"><a href="{ROOT_PATH}mchat.php" title="mChat">mChat</a></li>
add before:

Code: Select all

<!-- IF S_USER_LOGGED_IN -->
find:

Code: Select all

<li class="icon-bump"><a href="{ROOT_PATH}mchat.php" title="mChat">mChat</a></li>
add after:

Code: Select all

<!-- ENDIF -->
This will stop guest from seeing this button to go to the mchat page

Open: mchat_body.html
add this above the first line of the code:

Code: Select all

<!-- IF S_USER_LOGGED_IN -->
add this after the last line of code:

Code: Select all

<!-- ENDIF -->
Go to the ACP > Styles > template and select refresh on the line of your style.

As an admin, I want to be the only ones to read the chat archives.
I set it to false for guests and users.
I didn't see a line in the admin section so I copied and pasted this line there:
$mchat_allow_user_read_archive = false; /* Allow read archive? */

and changed it to:
$mchat_allow_admin_read_archive = true; /* Allow read archive? */

uploaded it, refreshed temp and purged cache.
Still doesn't show, so..I guess that's wrong. LOL
Is there a way to just have the admin see the archives?

In mchat.php
Find:

Code: Select all

// Options (admin)
$mchat_allow_admin_edit = true; /* Allow editing messages? */
$mchat_allow_admin_del = true; /* Allow delete messages? */
$mchat_allow_admin_ip = true; /* Allow view IP addres of message posted? */
$mchat_allow_admin_bbcode = true; /* Allow use bbcodes in messages? */
$mchat_admin_no_flood = true; /* Allow ignore flood control? */
After add:

Code: Select all

$mchat_allow_admin_read_archive = true;
Find:

Code: Select all

$mchat_read_archive = (($mchat_allow_user_read_archive && $auth->acl_get('u_') && $user->data['is_registered']) || ($mchat_allow_guest_read_archive && $user->data['user_id'] == ANONYMOUS)) ? true : false;
Replace with:

Code: Select all

$mchat_read_archive = (($mchat_allow_admin_read_archive && $auth->acl_get('a_')) || ($mchat_allow_user_read_archive && $auth->acl_get('u_') && $user->data['is_registered']) || ($mchat_allow_guest_read_archive && $user->data['user_id'] == ANONYMOUS)) ? true : false;

Is there a place to delete the archive all at once? Or do you just go in and delete them one at a time with the red x's?
Thank you!

Running the SQL query "TRUNCATE TABLE [your database name goes here].phpbb_mchat" will clear the archive but also all text in the chatbox.

ERRR..I'm probably the wrong person to be chiming here, but are you sure everything is in the correct root folder?
I had to create a folder name "mChat" in my forum root.
I had similar errors, but after that it worked fine.
As I said, I'm SO not the one to offer advice here, but I will try.
I know how frustrating it is to do a mod and it not work.
And sometimes, it takes a long time for a modder to get back with us noobs.
But eventually they will.
