I have a few suggestions for you on this mod! :D
  • Make the fields editable via the ACP, much easier to me.
  • Settings changeable in the ACP. (forum to submit to and so forth)
  • Disable the application form once an application is submitted(admin should be able to unblock the user from submitting another application)
  • Allow a user to view status of application. How many views it has, and have the ability to look at their own application
I have no knowledge on how to make how to make mods, or really mod them that much, I only work on styles.

Thank you for listening to my ideas :D

I currently don't have the time and knowledge the develop this MOD any further, to the wishes of the users from this modification.

As of that, I've decided that I am not going to develop this MOD anymore, if there is anyone who would like to take over this MOD, send me a PM and I'll be happy to give it over. If there is nobody interested, I'll tag this MOD is abandoned.

You don't need to abandon because you think you aren't able to apply any new features...
Just make the changes suggested (utf8_normalize_nfc in name, postion and why), even the changes in appform_body.html.
Another suggested change :
change

Code: Select all

$user->setup('application');
to

Code: Select all

$user->setup('mods/application');
and move your language file in en/mods directory.
You do all this together and your mod is just fine... ;)

If you need support click on the support tab there and post your question.
Do not PM me - chances of viewing my PMs are way thinner than viewing the support question in the customization DB...

Edit: Okay, just let's put it this way. I'll continue to be in charge of supporting and developing this modifications, it's my baby. :P

However, I'd like some help by people having more knowledge about things, feel free to contact me.

Hi! This mod is brilliant--my forum will require members to apply to upgrade their membership data, and this mod is perfect.

However.

I installed per instructions, and application.php is giving me a blank page. What goes?

liquidenvy, do you use a different language, other than English and did you by any chance translate language/yourlang/mods/application.php ?

My board is set to British English (en, not en_us).

Strange... I mean I had the same issue but I had forgotten to save my lang file as utf8 without bom. Could you check if this is the case too (even with the default lang)?
Use notepadd++ to save language/en/mods/application.php as utf8 WITHOUT BOM

You're brilliant, that was exactly the problem. Thanks for the tip! Everything is working now.

Is there any way to use the application form without having the users register on the forum first? I am trying to use it as an application for my World of Warcraft guild. I really don't want them registering for the forums if they aren't in the guild yet.
