is it possible to add,

costs users say 1 point for 1 week use's of the certain board forms

this way it will keep users active, because they will need points to access certain areas of the board so to get these points they most post else where / carry on posting

No. But maybe a feature for the future. I'll put that on the big wish list ;)

There's always something, which can be done better. I will put this on the list. But it will be nothing to check right now ;)

But ... I just checked in my testboard. Are you sure it has something to do with the UPS? What we added has something to do with view of the profile, where I have 20 queries .... we didn't show anything on the main member list view ...

Hello. Femu, someone was able to hack ultimate points on my forums by posting the maximum characters in a post, then editing it down to a single sentence or so. This proves a major problem for my forum, people are motivated to post, but I have to disable points for posting because of this. I want to know if there is a way to make it so that users get a fixed amount of points for each post they make, instead of points per word or character.

Anyway of getting around this will be appreciated, without having to have it disabled. Users on my forums really enjoy being rewarded for their posts.

I only have the arcade and the points mod on this board.

Your testboard: http://area53.die-muellers.org/memberlist.php

Code: Select all

Time : 0.136s | 119 Queries | GZIP : Off
I know that it isn't showing anything on the main memberlist view, therefore I see no reason for the querie use to be 10 times bigger than a normal memberlist.php
Maybe the memberlist.php edit is inserted the wrong place?
I am done with phpBB

You were absolutly right. Was the code from the old original and noone ever took a look at this one ;-) We are currently move it to another place in the memberlist.php. Right now we have around 100 queries less ;-)

Fixed in the SVN!

Thanks very much for informing us in time!

Kind regards,
femu

Hi,

to avoid it currently (I think a have an idea on how to avoid this in general), you can set per words/per charcters to zero and only leave the points for posting, replying and editing in the forums. So the settings in each forum in the ACP ...

Sorry. This request is on the future list and will definitly not be implemented in the next release. As i already stated, we first want to have the current one stable and passed into the MOD-DB. After that, we start to add new features.

Like the idea, hows it going with regards to getting it released into the MOD DB?

Well ... very easy. Submit a mod to the MOD-DB team. They will tell you, if everything is fine or not (so more the coding guide lines, security stuff and so on). If not, your are reworking those parts, which are mentioned to be wrong or dangerous. And then you resubmit it.

If you meant that ....
