and what is so horrible in that???
MySQL just did it's work :D
sure, you can index every field to escape row-to-row examine BUT indexes demand disk space and it does make sense when you have at least a hundred thousand or more rows ;)
but sure, we'll have a lookup of table's structure for some improvements in the next release 8-)

you can try to index you tables by yourself:

Code: Select all

ALTER TABLE phpbb_points_bank ADD INDEX ( holding );

Code: Select all

ALTER TABLE phpbb_users ADD INDEX ( user_points );

I cannot get the install file to open right. I've tried both download links. Is there another place to get that file?

I don't mind if it's not a big deal, hasn't hurt performance from what I can see :P Just pointing it out in case there can be any tweaks to improve things ;) I don't understand the whole indexing deal but just putting it out there since there are people that think having it other than 0 is evil from what I've googled :P

Applied the sql query and I like it so far :P

It still increments the whole joins/index thing but it doesn't occur now everytime the page refreshes so it's not in the thousands like it did before :P Thanks again 8-)

those queries add index only to main fields---there are other unindexed ones remain
no sense to index everything just because of google says it's evil 8-)

Well in my forum I have noticed that the advanced point settings where we specify the

Points per word on new topics:
Points per character on new topics:
etc

are not getting applied to posts made in the forum. Users don't get credited.

Did you "enable" the UPS in the forum, where you like to give points? You need to enter each forum and set the forum points. As long as these are set to 0, noone will receive and points.

@femu

yes, the UPS is enabled. I have set points per post, points per topic etc to 0.

I only wanted to give points depending on the post made. So I set points per word, points per character etc in the advanced points section. It does not allocate points to the post made. Instead it says you have earned 0.00 points for the post.

If you set them to 0, the UPS is DISABLED! You need to enter at least 1 point for starting a topic and/or starting a post.

Could, but won't do it. There's already enough in the viewtopic. Especially if you have added additionla mods, like the Medals Mod, the Country Flag Mod and whatever else is running around adding lines to this part.

I agree, this modification is awesome. Is this a finall release or not, I mean if I installed this modification there won't be any vast code changes?

It's not final. We are waiting to get it in the MODDB. But anyway. There always will be changes and enhancements (after the MODDB), but at current stage you can say it's more or less final.
