novice-1 wrote:Anyways, no sooner had i put my post above, it froze again. Will see how the update or even a fresh install goes. All I can say is I don't have the problem at all in Firefox only IE. Maybe down to number of IE windows open, maybe how many in chat, I don't now. Just wanted to mention it and hope for someone to give me a solution to try.
How many max users do you have on the chat at any one particular point in time?

...and that question can be answered by anyone, btw.

We do accept feature suggestions.
But if we provide anything it will be as an addon.

About the online userlist, this is the code in the template that outputs the userlist:

Code: Select all

<!-- IF MCHAT_CUSTOM_PAGE and MCHAT_CUSTOM_PAGE_WHOIS -->{MCHAT_LOGGED_IN_USER_LIST}<!-- ENDIF -->
Play with it, and see what you can come up with.
I am done with phpBB

In regards numbers in the chat, we're only talking 4/5 members perhaps when it will freeze.

I'm not saying it is purely down to mChat ( I like it alot and haven't taken it off, just sent an email to members with a link to get FF if they are having problems  )

I was trying to reproduce the problem by using IE last night which I nearly gave up with after more than 30mins. The fact it was ok for 30mins might say it is in fact something else, then it froze 3 times in quick succession and booted me. It's not caused by actually chatting or anything that I can tell. If I have another window open on top, then try to go back that would appear to be when it may happen.

I usually have 6/7 windows open and the only one that freezes is the index page of the forum with mChat, but i then have to force shut down of IE via Task Manager.

This doesn't happen in IE with same number if forum is using FF. (currently running 9 IE windows open, forum running in FF and all is fine)

I will set up account and pm it across to you stokerpiller.

Novice-1, what other mods do you have installed? A couple of weeks ago, after MS updated IE all my members who use IE7 or better were unable to use their mice in the index, only after all the scripts loaded.

I put in a problem ticket, but the fine people who tried to help said I had too many mods installed to even begin to try. :( I've since made a plain vanilla prosilver style available for them, but my board is such a dreary thing with no mods.

I tried to troubleshoot it myself, but I only have access to IE6, and it doesn't have this issue. :?

Hi, took some script out of another mod. and looks like things have settled down still stoker.

Thankyou for taking the time to check it out and helping resolve it (Hopefully, fingers crossed & not wishing to tempt fate) :)

All still been going fine and thanks again.

It was another full version chat room that's why I never went into specifics as it is highly unlikely that others would have the same script.

If you have another javascript chat room then possibly worth looking at. Mine was not a mod designed for phpBB specifically but was linked into database for regged users etc.

Will keep a check on it but seems to be ok now.

Hi!

Could you please help me with mChat for this style?
http://ddopl.com/phpbb/index.php

Here's how it looks like:

Look at "FaQ" and "Chat" links messing up the style in top right corner.

Also, can you help me and tutor how to change those horrible colors?
I needed to use subsilver2 for this style, but just look at it :D.
EDIT: Found a way in this topic, editing prosilver.css file and saving it as wowgold.css.
And last question - where can I change mChat so it shows for guests?

At present, it's working only for logged in users.

ACP->Permissions->Group Permissions. Set the permissions for the "Guests" group.

Thank you, now it works for guests. Though I've I limited them only to see mChat.

Do you know how to take care of that "Faq" and "Chat" link issue in top right corner?
It seems like it should be in one line, but uses two. So it messes up the banner and that horizontal line on the top (screen nr 1 above).
