Your style is subsilver2 based but you applied the edit for a prosilver based style.

Contrib folder has the edits for subsilver2 based styles.

The faq thing is because you have done the prosilver edits, you should do the subsilver2 edits instead.

Yes, my fault. I've mistakenly installed it as prosilver, now it shows correctly:

Big thank you! :)

Chat link now shows as *Chat. Is this correct with "*" symbol before it?

If you don't want that find this in your file

Code: Select all

<img src="{T_THEME_PATH}/images/icon_mini_groups.gif" width="12" height="13" alt="*" />
and remove it.

Thanks again :).
Now I just need to work at colors of mChat. It would be nice if you added a picture to the first post, explaining how which part of mChat is named in *.css file.
For now, I think I'll just experiment and see. Great mod, guys!

In mchat/mchat_subsilver2.css

Code: Select all

div.mChatBG1 {
	background-color: #FBFBFB;
	padding: 5px 5px 5px 15px;
	border-bottom: 1px dotted #DDDDDD;
	overflow: hidden;
}

div.mChatBG2 {
	background-color: #FFFFFF;
	padding: 5px 5px 5px 15px;
	border-bottom: 1px dotted #DDDDDD;
	overflow: hidden;
}
BG1 is the first, BG2 the second. Change the background-color to #000000 for both.

Thanks. But yet another problem. This time very strange - I can't copy a thing to mchat folder :|. I can't even change permissions.
The same for umil directory. Even when I do it from cPanel of my server, operation is not permitted :shock: . I've tried disabling mChat, but doesn't help.

Sounds like a permission/ownership problem.
You should contact your host about this.

Will do it, and probably post tomorrow how it went. I think it may be the issue of Automod - it installs directly by itself, so it probably owns those files now :D. And I can't change anything.

Thank you again, and thanks for this great addon.

Took the rest of the script from the 'old' chatroom down from all phpBB files today, as i did that was told by a member that a parse error came up in the mChat window.

Unfortunatley I didn't get the full details of the parse error (as I obviously did a template refresh, before finding out about it) but it reinforces the possibility that it was causing some kind of conflict with mChat as i can't see any other reason for a parse error to show up when I wasn't doing anything with mChat.

The old chatroom has it's own database etc. so I can only sumise there is some part of the script i.e.{USER_ID} or something similar that contributed to the problem.

I will give a further update tomorrow... was still giving an odd freeze today, as old chat is disconnected completely from the forum now I should have a better idea over the next 24 hours as to it's success.

*Update to follow

But if we provide anything it will be as an addon.

About the online userlist, this is the code in the template that outputs the userlist:

Code: Select all

<!-- IF MCHAT_CUSTOM_PAGE and MCHAT_CUSTOM_PAGE_WHOIS -->{MCHAT_LOGGED_IN_USER_LIST}<!-- ENDIF -->
Play with it, and see what you can come up with.
May I pick up the discussion about the online-list next to the chat-window? I read the whole topic and hope I did not miss anything, somewhere at the beginning it was said this will be implemented in a future version - but it wasn't. I think the intention of somebody - including me - wanting this list is a quick and automatic refreshing view on who is online currently. I know that this feature is implemented in the custom page but I need it on the index. So I tried customizing it myself and put the {MCHAT_LOGGED_IN_USER_LIST} in a table-line on top of the chat but it doesn't have any values. I think it is filled within the mchat.php where the functions_mchat.php is included, so I tried including this one in the index.php but then I get an error because of redeclaration. I can display the {LOGGED_IN_USER_LIST} from the bottom of the page but how do I get it automatically refreshed? I tried placing it to different locations of the code but when I get it into the refreshing-period of the chat itself, it's posted as new line every 10 seconds (refreshing, though :lol: ).

Any help here? This is the relevant part of my current mchat_body.html (subsilver2):

Code: Select all

<!-- IF not S_MCHAT_LOCATION --><br /><!-- ENDIF -->
<table class="tablebg" width="100%" cellspacing="1">
<tr>
<td class="cat" colspan="2"><!-- IF MCHAT_ARCHIVE_MODE --><h4>{L_MCHAT_ARCHIVE_PAGE}</h4><!-- ELSE --><h4>{L_MCHAT_TITLE}</h4><!-- ENDIF --></td>
</tr>
   <tr>
      <td class="row1" width="100%"><span class="genmed">{LOGGED_IN_USER_LIST}</span></td>
   </tr>
<tr>
<td class="row1" width="100%" valign="middle">
<!-- ENDIF -->

Updated to 1.2.15 ......Been using IE all day and no freeze or anything untoward happening. Looks like all is good in mChat world :)

The only thing I would suggest to anyone having some kind of problem still with the IE browser is to check what other javascripts are active on their site. This would appear to have been my problem.

Thanks for getting back with the result ;)
