Thanks for the reply. So I'll need to reinstall this in the right way and check the contrib folder for some other addons.

Hello, I've installed the mod properly, but then when I tried to type a message on it, I can't seem to send it, wether by clicking the 'send' button or pressing enter. the 'smilies' and 'bbcode' button can't be clicked too. Can anyone help me? I guess this is something to do with the javascript files???

Check that you have done all file edits and uploaded all included files to their right location.

When omitting BBCodes, the chat stops working completely. It was still visible, but it was impossible to use it at all. No posting, no smilies, nothing.

I did not use the IE8 fix so that cannot be it.

I removed the omitted BBCodes from the ACP and it started working again.

(flash, size, code)

Rich, this is not quite on-topic, but maybe you or one of the other fine developers can point me to a primer?

After more than a year of waiting, I have grown tired of Nexties AI chatbot project to produce any code. This morning I installed Program-O (an ALICE port to php and SQL). I would like to have ALICE as a member and able to respond to chats, either in mChat or in Blueimp's AJAX chat.

My skills are limited, but if I have a starting place I just may be able to continue on my own... ;)

There used to be a mod for version 2 that had Alice installed or used. Don't think it was ever validate, try searching in the version 2.x mod's forums.

Thanks. I fear I'm taking on a bit more than my skills will allow for, but there's no hill for a stepper! :D

In red is probably the problem.

eunaumtenhoid,

Permissions to view the forum are in effect. If a user does not have the permission to view the forum that the new topic is in, they won't see that there has been a new topic in that forum posted.

I installed mchat.
Now my moderators can edit mchat settings in ACP!

So I try to put the permission "Can manage mChat settings" to NO, but everytime I put it to NO and then submit, it is standing on yes again :?
So I can't change it, every time it gets back to "yes".

Is this a bug? How to fix it?
