Does this mod work with RC2?

It works with the latest release; RC2 is outdated.

Hello !

This MOD seems great but I didn't reach to install it on my forum (French language with Serenity style bases or SylverBlue2 style - had to make some little adjustments but should work then and it's not...).

2 questions :

1/ Does it work with RC4 (it's writen RC3 in the description) ?
2/ What is the file "modx.prosilver.en.xls" is for ? What am I supposed to do with ?

Thks

It works fine on RC4 for me.

The file you mentioned is the stylesheet which is used to make the MOD install XML file look pretty when viewed in a browser.

this doesn't work for me either. double checked everything. nor errors..no quick reply either...

there's something in the instruction that is quite not clear...

Find
Tip: This may be a partial find and not the whole line.
Code: Select All

{S_POLL_ACTION}

Find

Tip: This may be a partial find and not the whole line.
Code: Select All

{L_POST_REPLY}<!-- ENDIF --></span></a></div>

So...why find {S_POLL_ACTION}?

The two FINDs in a row ensure that the proper code is found. The second FIND appears twice. Essentially, the instructions for the second FIND mean "find this occurrence of code which appears after the first FIND."

The 2-FIND method isn't terribly common, but it is valid. Just follow the instructions exactly as they appear, and you'll be fine.

Did you do the skin edits from the files themselves, or via the ACP? (There IS a difference)

I'm having the same problem as other users. I have checked many times the instructions for installation and all seems fine there, But still the button does not show up.

I did the editing via the files not the ACP. What difference does that make ?

Oh, also refreshed the templates, imagesets and theme for each modified style.
(currently using proSilver and a modified theme of proSilver)

I'm also running RC4, if thats important.

I also agree with the above user, the two Find's arent clear atall, perhaps a longer find string would be more clear.

Check if the button doesn't appear on top of the topic instead of at the bottom. If it is, you edited the wrong line. ;)

Either that or ganeshcp forgot to "refresh" the Skins. (Purging the template will remove the edits you made, since all you edited were the files. Doing a refresh should update the DB as well.)

Still not working for me :(
Could someone give me a demo link (with access codes) please so that I see how it should appear ?

And what about : Find [, 'button_topic_reply'] then in-line find [, 'button_topic_reply'] ?
Does it means with the first [, 'button_topic_reply'] I'm ok ?

I can't see it either. I have edited everything correctly, purged the caches and refreshed the tpls.

This edit has two ENDIFs:

Now the original line is:

Code: Select all

<a href="{U_POST_REPLY_TOPIC}">{REPLY_IMG}</a><!-- ENDIF -->
Add

Code: Select all

<!-- IF S_QR_ENABLED -->&nbsp;<a href="javascript:toggle_quick_reply();">{QUICK_REPLY_IMG}</a><!-- ENDIF -->
After:

Code: Select all

<a href="{U_POST_REPLY_TOPIC}">{REPLY_IMG}</a>
If I remove on endif it gives an error and the page turns blank.

I didn't understand the use of finding

Code: Select all

{S_POLL_ACTION}
:?

It also asks us to find </div>. Please specify the preceding lines so that newbies don't confuse :)

This is how it is to be done:
</div>

<!-- IF S_QR_ENABLED -->
<!-- INCLUDE posting_qr_body.html -->
<!-- ENDIF -->

<div id="pagefooter"></div>
The edits are in bold ;)

What could be the problem with my board??
