It would work, but spam would be a huge problem.
All MOD downloads should be back now - Sorry for that and serious lack of support! - If anyone wants to take over or help with any of my MODs the offer would be apreciated as I have little time for phpBB Modding recently!

Again very sorry for not supporting these MODs recently.

Spam would not be a problem if two forums trusted each other and thus exchanged messages. Would require a mutual agreement between each forum.

Thats not the idea of the MOD, its not just a mutal agreement its any forum that has the MOD installed.

But yes you can make a personal blacklist/whitelist

I fail to understand your theory of centralization == evil

I fail to understand the server usage when there's no server necessary. Do you have Techie-Micheal on your team already? ;)

But there is for spam prevention.

As for the personalized white list, I may implement it so if you use a white list its direct... But offering both will be hard to do for the recieving board (also without the server, there is no validation, it is likely that someone could spoof the board thats on the whitelist....)

Yes I believe Techie-Micheal does agree with using a server :)

Were you bullied when you were younger? Because that's the only reason I can think of for you being such a pain. There is no point in your being rude to me. Do you have some grudge against me? If you do, deal with it and move on. I don't want to hear about it.

If you don't secure the queries, someone could spoof your server as easily. If you do, each query gets signed by the (trusted) sender, hence no need for the server exists.

spoof queries? No one can access the boards database without the password.

Every sign up will be activated only when we approve that there purpose is not spam, this also allows us to ban boards if they are found to be spammers.

The way we are doing it, the request is sent from board to server via SSL, so the password, string and username can not be "intercepted" as it were. this could not be done board to board unless every board had SSL.

"SSL" doesn't mean "secure", just as "secure" doesn't mean "SSL"...

It is more secure than nothing.

Now if you don't have anything constructive to say, please don't bother, I'm really not intrested in your opinions anymore. Your just being rude and stubborn to other views.
