This mod doesn't show text which is surrounded by
  • -tags, e.g.

    Code: Select all

    [list]
    [*]item
    [*]item
    [/list]
    Special BBcode (e.g. Youtube-tags) only sometimes (only in first post of a thread???) appears in RSSOwl, linefeeds are ignored for the most part.

line 71

Code: Select all

		$message = str_replace(']]>', ']]>', $message);
looks like the post was too large to print it should have been cut short by the max char limit

did you edit this by any chance?

Code: Select all

// maximum text char limit
if($chars<0 || $chars>500) $chars=500; //Maximum

Any progress about this? I checked everything a thousand times but can't figure out what could cause this.
(my forum is in a subdomain, may it cause the problem?)

did you use the COUNT part on the link or change the max so it doesn't need a count?

Love the mod, but it appears when the posts have no title, it's not defaulting to the topic title or something simular to that. The RSS feed is showing the message of the posts, but no links to access it.

Thanks! That solved my problem! ;)

I have 2 things to consider:
- it'd be great if it'd take me to the newest post, and not to the first post in a topic (someone above already mentioned that)
- also it'd be good to show the topic titles instead of the post titles

I agree :-)

Find this:

Code: Select all

// SQL posts table
$sql = 'SELECT p.poster_id, p.post_subject, p.post_text, p.bbcode_uid, p.bbcode_bitfield, p.topic_id, p.forum_id, p.post_time, f.forum_name, f.forum_desc_options, u.username
Replace with this:

Code: Select all

// SQL posts table
$sql = 'SELECT p.poster_id, p.post_subject, p.post_text, p.bbcode_uid, p.bbcode_bitfield, p.topic_id, p.forum_id, p.post_time, p.post_id, f.forum_name, f.forum_desc_options, u.username
Find this:

Code: Select all

		'LINK'			=> append_sid("$board_url/viewtopic.$phpEx", 'f=' . $row['forum_id'] . '&t=' . $row['topic_id']),
		'IDENTIFIER'	=> append_sid("$board_url/viewtopic.$phpEx", 'f=' . $row['forum_id'] . '&t=' . $row['topic_id']),
Replace with this:

Code: Select all

		'LINK'			=> append_sid("$board_url/viewtopic.$phpEx", 'f=' . $row['forum_id'] . '&t=' . $row['topic_id']. '&p=' . $row['post_id'] .'#' . $row['post_id']),
		'IDENTIFIER'	=> append_sid("$board_url/viewtopic.$phpEx", 'f=' . $row['forum_id'] . '&t=' . $row['topic_id']. '&p=' . $row['post_id'] .'#' . $row['post_id']),

Find this code:

Code: Select all

	if (!$auth->acl_get('f_list', $row['forum_id']))
	{
		// if the user does not have permissions to list this forum, skip everything until next branch
		continue;
	}
Add this after:

Code: Select all

// Begin fix blank subjects
	if (empty($row['post_subject']))
	{
		$subj_sql = 'SELECT p.post_subject
		FROM ' . POSTS_TABLE . ' as p, ' . TOPICS_TABLE . ' as t
		WHERE (p.topic_id = '.$row['topic_id'] .')
		AND p.post_id = t.topic_first_post_id';

		$subj_result = $db->sql_query($subj_sql);
		$subj_row = $db->sql_fetchrow($subj_result);
		$row['post_subject'] = $subj_row['post_subject'];
	}
// End Fix blank subjects
Edit: Added change to SQL query -Drakkim

So this will only create a RSS feed of my forum but does not allow the forum to post threads based on RSS feeds?

Also when I click the RSS feed icon in firefox it doesnt ask me to bookmark the folder it just asks me to download syndicate.php

Did I miss something?
