Sounds like it could be really good, but you need to be able to select a word from the list and then the list must hide...

Then I would definitely install it! :D

^ diddo. I think that it is a great idea, and so far it looks great. I tried it and you can't select the word from the list, and you when you scroll down with the keyboard arrows, the page scrolls instead of the next word being highlighted. Besides that, I can see no other problems. If you get those worked out, I would most definitely install it on my forum. Congrats! :)

The scrolling down the list of words works perfectly for me (and it does select one, just the box doesn't hide). I'm using Firefox latest version, what browser are you using?

I have Updated it, now you can select a word with the mouse.
but you need to be able to select a word from the list and then the list must hide...
What is select? If you press Enter the search will be startet so its not necessarily to hide the list. If you use the mouse to select a word the list hides by click on a word.

Much better, but what about this.

I start typing gam and it comes up with the list. Fine, I continue to type game (without selecting one from the list). I then want to type something in the Author field and so I click in there and the list stays open. It must close on any click (except if it is in the textbox, if possible).

Much better though :)

You can do this very simple:

open search_body.html and find

Code: Select all

<!-- INCLUDE overall_header.html -->
replace with

Code: Select all

<!-- INCLUDE overall_header.html -->
<div onclick="javascript:document.getElementById('drop').style.display = 'none';">
find

Code: Select all

<!-- INCLUDE overall_footer.html -->
replace with

Code: Select all

</div>
<!-- INCLUDE overall_footer.html -->
So the list will hide on any mouseclick.

Great! I think that that should be included in the MOD by default, what do others think?

Are planning

1. offer the same for "search by author"?
2. offer the livesearch in other search fields like in header and in viewtopic...
